On Amazon Iphone 11 is retailing at 47999/-, plus HDFC Bank offer. Which is again a great deal.

Prepared a comparo of how Apple is milking the Indian consumer.
All models are grossly overprices & the top spec variant costs Rs. 10k more than the Bleeding Edge 120hz folding phone from Samsung, which costs Rs. 149,900
I am not shocked though, its Apple, so expected.
Expecting people to lap it up.

First up, Those antennas take me back to the iPhone4 presentation by Steve Jobs. And not to forget Antenna-Gate which followed. Major throw back!! I mean they had to switch back to this design for 5G. Totally missed Jony Ive & Phil Schiller on the stage. :(

Second, the Mini was THE form factor, one handed/small finger users like us have craved for users like me. This design was a LONG time in the making. And super glad Apple got it right. And how!!! I also imagine what it would be like removing the bezels off the old 6S design and somewhere the dimensions came spot on. I was over the moon when Kaiann announced the size. Damn! I should get into mobile design. :D It shall also be the future iPhone SE 3. Even tweeted the same:

Then came the MagSafe series. The incredible transition from being a revolutionary power adapter to a colourful line of quick attach accessories. The new MagSafe series is clever design. Makes the AirPower charging pad obsolete. Ingenious stuff. Bring back MagSafe on the ARM MBP's already. Neatly done, Apple.

And I knew they would reserve the high refresh rate screens, new notch & camera module design for a new calendar year. And they did it. Haha! If you don't have an iPhone, you don't have an iPhone. ;) Most people will be like...we are getting 120hz screen Droid phones for half the price. But people will still go out and buy the new iPhones. Youtubers must be banging their heads already!!! Cant wait for JerryRigEverything's take on the Ceramic Shield.

Really glad Apples one upping on Google Pixel phones for good. This is how you take on your competitors & tear em down! Google really needs to get its hardware act sorted. So much for the Soli project. Also, the faff and jazz about not including chargers was pure BS. Regd pricing, yes we need a revision. Also Apple needs to ramp up its A.S.S given the fact that we pay a bomb for these devices. More so in these troubled times.

All said and done...love those shiny rails! The worlds largest selling product marches on. And last but not the least, if you didn't notice: ;)

The iPhone 12 is a good upgrade on the 11 with the higher resolution OLED screen and reduced overall footprint. Given the bigger price difference between US and India this year, makes more sense to get it from US if possible. Since only the US models have the mm wave 5G, will it be compatible with networks in 4G networks in India? and upcoming 5G 2-3 years down the line? Do we also have warranty applicable for US phones in India?

Prepped my 2016 iPhone7 (128 GIG) for sale. It's still like brand new. Will probably use the exchange option @Apple India on 23rd. Used MIN cream liberally to bring back that shine

I have a 3 year old SE that I am eager to replace. I had big hopes from the SE 2020 but that turned out to be a damp squib (from a SE owners perspective atleast), the biggest downer being the battery. I had my eyes on the 11 pro (I find xr/11 to be too heavy) but even at a 'never before' price of 80k I found it too expensive.

As someone who loves light phones (and small) the best part of this iteration of iPhones is the 12 Mini. While I was happy they managed to increase screen size to 5'4, I am very pleased that Mini at 135 gm is lighter than the 148 gm SE 2020!

I mean I had almost given up hope of lighter sleeker iPhone with xr-11-11pro-11-pro-max evolution

If the 12 mini battery is even a shred better than SE 2020, it just might be the phone for me!

P.S. - Did you know that iPhone 12 is even lighter than 2018 iPhone XS!

Mumbai users check out Taru Telecom (Instagram page too) in Bandra, Carter Road.
Prices as compared to online rates are pretty good.
E.g. Iphone 11 64 GB Amazon rate 50k currently.
Taru telecom would be 42k.
However, these are U.S products. Warranty if works in India needs to be checked out.

They just mentioned there that iPhone12 availability is from 30th October. Delivery on 12th Nov. Looks like its delayed

Pre-ordered a 12 Pro for the wife (22 Oct), made the mistake of doing that with Flipkart (to avail the ₹ 5K HDFC flashback discount offer). They are supposed to deliver tomorrow and its still not packed & picked up for delivery from seller.

Unless they spring a surprise from the hat, looks like a Saturday wasted in waiting (and likely delayed delivery). :Frustrati

Awesome! Except for battery life (obviously, 2815 mah), i hope no major issues. Hope you enjoy yours.
