Has anyone used the Motorola 4K Android TV Stick launched in March 2021 ? Any reviews by the users here ?
On comparison, it is similar to the Mi Box 4K as it uses the vanilla Android OS 9.0. As the latest Chromecast with Google TV isn't available in India, is Moto stick a worthy replacement ?

I voted for the Amazon fire stick. Been using it for the last 3 years and quite happy with it.
Slightly off topic : The batteries don't last very long on the Fire stick remote. Someone had come up with a "fix" in the settings but there 's no hope of finding that particular post.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks & Regards,

Apparently the remote needs a firmware update. For me the problem seems to have resolved by itself. In any case I use rechargeable batteries.
Found this on the Internet:

You need to reset the remote as reason is firmware update.
Press Left+Back+Options Button together for 10 Seconds.
Remote resets and doesn't work few seconds as it reconnects again.
When is reconnects it would last long now

Another interesting find,
fix for the stutter when mirroring :
https://www.aftvnews.com/fire-os-5-a...mazon-fire-tv/
(The procedure / buttons might be slightly different for different versions of the OS, GIYF) The solution is to use 24fps, I don't recall the exact procedure I used, but after setting the fps to 24, mirroring is smooth.

Update
For the final version of Fire OS 5, the button combination to bring up resolution cycling has been changed to holding REVERSE and UP
While you can select 24, 25, and 30 Hz with this method, it’s not fully supported.

My choice will be Mi Box 4K https://www.mi.com/in/mi-box-4k/
It has Android TV 9 out of box. Use Google Play and install millions of apps and games for TV resolution. Built-in Chromecast. Very smooth & practical UX.
Cheers!

Is Mi stick equally good to buy?
https://www.mi.com/in/mi-tv-stick
My requirement is to download apps(Ex: Amazon Prime Video) and use it, stick behind TV.
Thanks.
I have an nvidia shield and a Google Chromecast with tv. Both are great. Pity neither is available in India

Yes, you can use it too. But for downloading multiple movies the internal space will not be sufficient with 8GB.
Voted other. Have the Mi Box 4K. Excellent experience till now (6+ months).

Stick is good enough. But I think 4K should be the preferred choice due to 1GB extra RAM. Extra RAM Should help in keeping the device more future proof and help run apps smoother for longer.

Thanks mvadg,
I did what you suggested for the firmware update and so far the batteries are still holding out.

Hi, I need some advice on streaming stick.
1. Can I download Amazon prime movies into fire stick itself and watch later with slow or no internet.
2. If I add extra storage to fire stick via otg & pendrive, can I download content onto external storage?
3. How much storage is supported by fire stick
4. Any other suggestions for a streaming stick/box where I can download contact and watch later

You could try this :

I would like to know if this works, as I have similar requirements. I always download to my laptop or phone and mirror the content to the firestick. I don't want to experiment with my firestick because I don't want it to update the os - the first thing it tries to do when it gets an internet connection :unhappy

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently using a Google chromecast and exploring a better option that can work independently and have both apps and content onboard.
BTW, any idea if the above works with only Firestick 4K or any version?
Not sure if this is the right thread to seek feedback on an issue, I have a 3-4 year old Apple TV HD, have been using it as my TV interface for quite sometime now, and since I don’t have any dish setup like Tata sky etc, the Apple TV is my primary interface. The issue off late has been with the
Touch pad remote, it has become a bit unresponsive at times, gets stuck a lot and makes it very difficult to scroll. So I try and use the remote app in my phone as an interim solution. However i would ideally want to find a way to replace or repair this remote. I’m seeing an all new remote in the Apple website for about Rs.5800, which is actually almost 50% of the Apple TV HD box which I bought 3-4 years ago! I don’t see any other option, I’m seeing the same touch pad remote which im using in some sites for around 3000, but it’s out of stock. Since I intend to use this Apple TV for another 3-4 years, should I just go ahead and buy the new one? Or is there any other option?
Others: Nvidia Shield Pro
if you are audiophile or crazy for resolution, I am using Apple TV plus and Nvidia shield pro
I find Nvidia much easy interface and very good resolution and easy detection of Dolby
a perfect all rounder, not sure if its on sale in India
Chromecast with Google TV. All apps work with almost zero lag. Day 0 updates from Google. The "For you" page is not yet available in India.
Hi Guys, I'm having a remote pairing problem with the firestick nowadays. Works OK if you use the phone, but, the remote is having an issue. How to find out if its a software or hardware issue?

How does this work? I checked Google TV which is essentially Google Play movies app. But how does it access content to my subscriptions like Netflix, Prime etc?
