Steam Iron!

My wife was using a Morphy Richards Steam Iron ComfyGrip Pro.
Morphy Richards India - Irons - Comfi-grip Pro

She has had no complaints with it for the last 5 years but now it has started giving problems after a few falls. The body has cracked and it needs replacement.

I was thinking of getting her
Philips - Steam iron GC4420/02 - Steam irons - Irons - Household products

Has anyone here used the above iron? Can anyone suggest any other model/make?

Any help will be appreciated.

I've bought the Morphy Richards Dolphin yesterday. Looks VFM. Maybe you can try that at 1600 bucks.

Nothing better than Philips. I have been using one for the past 15 years. Only once did we get it repaired. Thats it.

The quality of Philips isent what it used to be 15years back, we also had the Philips for a long long time but seeing the current ones all are made in China, the Black & Decker we have is Made is England and bought it from Benzer here in Mumbai.

Its an automotive forum, no doubt about that. This post is however in a section called Shifting Gears which is there to deal with everything other than automobiles.

I may also look at Morphy Richards if I run out of alternatives.

Black & Decker would be difficult to procure in this part of the country.

Guys, i have a query.

I bought an IFB - Senorita fully automatic washing machine last year. It has a 5kg capacity. It used to behave itself early on, but has started rocking these days - LITERALLY!

It dances and runs all around the place during the spin operation, which makes it quite embarassing and has me flumoxxed. While i can bear the embarassment, i reckon this is also not good for the appliance. I dont think i am overloading it, as i think the load i put in is quite reasonable.

The place where the washing machine is kept is level ground in one of the rooms. It doesnt rock when not in operation.

Any ideas as to what could be the issue, or will i have to wait for the IFB technicians to come and check it out?

I suggest you try putting on some classical music during spin cycle to calm it down
Jokes apart, it looks like motor mounting. Sometimes, one of the mountings goes, and uneven pressure is applied, leading to dance.

My IFB does the same. When i checked with one of my colleagues who uses IFB he agreed that he had the same issue and is common in IFBs as they get older. He bought a samsung washing machine now and says its really silent.
