Any review of the new model esp when pitched against the older one? Will the new 5200 mAH battery fit in the old model?
Thanks.

Xiaomi already bumped up the price to ₹29,999
My relative purchased it on sale on Sunday and got the sale price.

Here are some pictures from his unboxing of the new model:

Too early to comment on the Pros and Cons versus the old model - will share more once I visit him in person and take a look at the Robot. One thing he told me was that there is no Water Tank to be placed inside the Vacuum but the Water Tank is just above the Mop and gets fit below the Vacuum just like the Mop Pad.

Sonic function may help however, mop gets dirty in just 1 room and has to be replaced manually which has been the biggest issue so far. Otherwise, vacuum functions really well and quite helpful.

PS: Do we need to keep the robot on charge 24x7? Because if I disconnect it in the evening and turn it off, the battery runs out by the morning.

Which is why they had then proceeded to change the board and then the dock and even a couple of sensors.

So did you get your money back? Since 2 more parts were replaced because of their fault? A.S.S. is a mess with most of the companies in India.

After you turn off the switch, you have to manually turn off the robot by pressing the power button for a few seconds till you hear the message saying turning off.

No. I got a new battery, board and a dock (not charged for that). So I did not really pursue the refund part.

Thats what I do. I make sure robot is not touching the dock and then manually turn it off but still battery discharges.

That is weird. After you do that, what does it show in the app? Does it show the device is offline?

I have a hunch that what devilicious reports is correct and applies to my machine too. Though my robo is connected to dock 24X7, but there are times when I take it away for cleaning. I remember that before taking it away from the dock, battery would be at 100% and even when the robo was turned off while cleaning, it would show say like 87 or 90% when reattached to dock and turned on- all within a span of 10 minutes. I have not checked by turning off the machine for longer than that but We can check to confirm this behaviour.

Regards,
Saket.

Yes, it shows offline. I thought that you've to always keep it connected to the doc or something. Does your Robot retain the charge after turning off?

Thanks for confirming Saket. If this is by design, its a major flaw in my opinion. Do let us know if in case you do check it for longer.

Battery drain is to be expected but I doubt if it completely drains out overnight. Have not faced that issue.

I tested the same overnight.

Fully charged machine was switched off completely and kept away from dock. It went offline. Attached it back to the dock in the morning. It turned on automatically, connected back to the network and came online. Battery was 97%. So merely 3% drain overnight. Please try one more time in this way and check.

Looking to get a robo vacuum. Have no idea where to look to start to decide.

Budget is around 30k ish, give or take, don't mind going slightly over if it is worth it. Our house is 1500 sq ft, tiled floors with 2 rugs. Looking for something that vacuums and mops.

Any recommendations?

For the price, the mi robo is unbeatable. It's amazing at vacuuming and ordinary at mopping. Hardly use the mopping feature.

But the vacuuming is good. Amazed at the sheer amount of dust it picks up from what we think is a clean floor.

I bought the MI robo about a year ago in one of the sales. I was wondering where we can order the spares from.

Thanks.
