have you installed nero 7.There is a problem with the Nero Thumbnail Codec.
Remove Nero and try to copy some pictures to another folder and see if you get thumbnails properly. You can try this directly also(without removing nero),because in vista the thumbnails are only generated once, copy to some other folder and see or add a few new pics.
If yes then use latest nero verion 7.9 or 8.
Hi Guys,
Problem solved. Thanks to Wheeler.
Viper
Today i installed Vista Ultimate and i got score of 4.5. I used it for half day it is running smoothly.
just that it takes too much system resource and isn't really worth, for a C2D 4400, 2 gb 677 mhz RAM and ASUS SLI mbo.
it works like my old 1.5 Ghz p4 with 378 mb ram on XP
thinking of rolling back to XP ..

Hey, Ready to help anytime...
Vista is good. I installed it in October. For a few days it was like a new experience with windows zooming in and out and the Aero experience but that is it. Practically XP is better. So i have dual booted my system.
But i cant say that softwares are not working on vista. 99% of the ones i have installed in XP work with Vista also.
The most irritating part of Vista is the Start menu. It has made searching for programs way too difficult. The scroll type till XP was the best.
been using it since 3 months no issues after a while i think its gettin system hungry now takes a minute to load. ratings i am gettin 5.5 on both cores
Hi Guys,
I just bought a Lenovo that came with Vista installed.
My problem is that Activesync 4.5 is not compatible with Vista. How do I sync my PocketPC to Outlook? Is there an alternate software that I should use or a different version of Activesync?
Please Help.
Regards,
Manveet.

Ok i'm facing another prob with Vista. I downloaded Microsoft Power Point Viewer 2007 but for some reason, when i try to open a .ppt file, i get a message saying that the file cannot be opened since it's not a ppt format.
Xp on the other hand has no issues opening the same file using the same software.
Is there any other software out there that can open .ppt files on Vista?

Try running the PP Viewer 2007 in XP compatibility mode. For that just right click on the shortcut icon of the application and go to the compatibility tab.
@manveet - Vista already has activesync built in to it. You do not need it separately. It is called the Mobile Device Centre in the control panel. The first time you connect you PPC to it, just leave it connected for a few minutes. After sometime it will automatrically download a patch for the device center. Or you can go to this link and download it manually.
Download details: Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista (32-bit)

Windows Vista has Windows Mobile Device Center which is upgrade from Active Sync.
After you connect your Windows Mobile based phone just open WMDC from control panel

I have question to all people saying Windows Vista sucks because it doesn't run my hardware
Have you people submitted your report to Microsoft for analysis when asked for?
For all those saying Windows Vista sucks because it can not run XYZ software.
Have you checked manufacturers website to make sure that the software you are downloading is Vista compatible?
