Lcd and sound card queries

I am looking for an lcd monitor which meets the following specs
Budget 20 k
Anyhing over or 17 inch will do(Scren size is not as a big priority as quality of the display)
A good response time -6ms or below
DVI port
Potrait mode (would highly appreciate if this is available in my budget)
Dual hinge with full swivel capabilities
If possible can i have altleast an hd ready resiolution 720p(very high priority)
Moreover also do lcd's use progressive or interlaced scanning technique
I also have to buy a sound card within the 4k budget something which supports a good signal to noise ratio@102db to suport my altec lansing mx-5021 thx cerified 2.1 speakers which presently run on 865 onboard sound(for the thx experience do u need a thx certified soundcard as well).
At present I am looking at the aoc 193p
http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors...-31756827.html
and the Benq FP92w
http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors...tag=prod.txt.1
in the lcd's
For the souncard I am looking at the creative audigy 2 series(any one which is thx certified)

I don't think that is what he wants. There are higher models in viewsonic priced over 25k which might suit his requirement. Wait till LBM gets here.

@El budget is 20 k nothing over it.
Leave the swivel capabilties out ,dual hinge(ability to tilt backwards fully) alongwith with high definition resolution is more important.

i think you can meet ur swiveling requirements with after market LCD mounts. so you can just focus on the quality of the LCD.

@vivek

I had mentioned in the first post itself that quality of the lcd is very vital for me considering this
which is the best quality(image wise) lcd avialable in my budget if you leave out the swivel and other options.I mean normally lcd's do not have well defined grays and blacks and sometimes the picture is grainy that is one can see the pixels.

The current street price of 19" wides start from 11-13.5k but these are only with analog input. If you want DVi, the price is about 14-18k. (Progressive/ Interlaced is what you feed it, and VGA/DVI are equivalent to the progressive, if you want to tick that point.)

I recently bought LG Flatron 19" wide (L192WS) after comparing it with Dell, ViewSonic, Samsung models. ViewSonic scored a bit on the higher side for picture, but the new models are all 700:1 contrast and 5ms, with natural resolution of 900p lines. But the deciding factor for the LG Flatron was the looks (even when it is switched off) -- simply awesome.

Is there any lg or samsung 19 inch widescreen that has a 2000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms response time available along with a dvi port.

I have just bought Dell E228WFP 22 Wide Flat Panel Monitor and really satisfied; my only grudge is my display card does not support the native 1680 x 1050 resolution, next on buy list. If you watch movies and play games highly recommended.

Also Dell comes with 3yrs warranty, as these are disposable items (nothing can be repaired) it makes sense, I have opted for 5yrs warranty.

Portrait mode is a feature of your display card and monitor stand E228WFP has fixed stand and does not support this.

Can you see any pixelation while watching videos. In other words is the display grainy when you run dvd's.And you should seriously get hold of a graphic card so because lcd's are not known to function properly at anything less than the native resolution. If you are not into gaming and do not care about that crap vista even a nvidia fx5200@1.5 k will do the job.

Currently I have set it to 1280x1024 (I know I’m loosing a lot on real estate). No grains or anything, Video is crystal clear. Watched few Widescreen Edition DVDs on this, great experience.
No unnatural colors, no backlight bleeding, No dead pixels.
This is 5ms, 22” Lcd, with DVI, costed me 21k with 5yrs warranty, anything below 8ms is good for that matter. I have been using 8ms Dell 1707Ftp for past 15months, good experience.
I was about to pick up fx5200 GeForce FX Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, checked for some reviews & decided to postpone and go for a better one. Any recommendations...

actually whats your exact usage are you a graphics user or dvd addict,a gamer or the one who wants to run vista either now or in the future. If you want to use your computer for the former two uses you need nothing more than a 5200 at present to suffice your needs anything else will be useless. However if you are more interested in the latter usage you are better off opting for a directx 10 card called the nvidia 8600gt for 7k.However if you have a lower budget go for the 7300 gt or a 6600 gt.Do you know of any other good monitor within this range except dell so that I can have more options to choose from.
