ok...i read this in Chip(computer mag) a few months ago.
Take a dead USB mouse or any other usb device(dead). cut the cable off....it will have 4 wires. 2 are data wires and other 2 carry the current(i have forgotten which 2 are for what. but i think it said 2 white wires are data wires). Now take a working charger of your mobile..and cut it off. The idea is to connect the 2 wires of the charger to the 2 power wires of the USB.
Have yet to try it....as am still looking for a nokia charger to sacrifice.

nokia did release a laptop pod where u can connect it via usb.
I had a Nokia 8210 which I used to charge via a USB port. The USB charger cost me USD 5 in 2004.

So, unless Nokia have changed their charging strategy, one can charge Nokia phones via a laptop or PC.

and as I mentioned before, I charged my Nokia N91 via my laptop. never really used a wall charger.

My Benq-Siemens EF81 and Benq-Siemens E71 have an option to switch of and switch on USB charging.
