I second that, TS has awesome quality especially with HD+ ... and with Star HD on it...wow...

The HD+ has a Signal meter indicating both Signal Strength and "Signal Quality", hidden inside the service menu i dont have the settings upfront but googling should get it...With this menu option we should be able to Adjust the Antenna's direction for optimum signal.
i'd suggest do NOT touch that dish to make any adjustments.
eve a minor degree of shift will have you communicating with the next nearest planet instead of the intended satellite...

I haven't tried my hand on DTH dish but done that with bigger dishes for almost 15 years. One time helped to my local DD transmitter Engineer too while they lost their spectrum analyzer cum signal meter. Just putting TV in front and adjusting by taking clue from magnetic needle compass and satellite coordinates. Just try and error with gut fill.

So no fears.

Anyone else facing an issue with sound going off for a few seconds on the HD channels? Happening every 15-20 min since the past couple of days.

Used to happen on our HD+ box. Add to that freezing of the box five to six times a day. Finally got Tata Sky technicians, who promptly changed the box yesterday. Since then no problems.

re: The Tata Sky Thread

I enquired the TATA technicians and they told that they have disabled the USB.
Yes, it would have been good if the USB functionality was active.

Hey anybody noticed that the TATA SKY HD user interface(UI) has changed.
I don't know about the normal TATA SKY UI.
This new HD UI looks cool-especially the fade effects to all the menus.
Good thing is the classifications of the channels are now in the main screen itself.
The number of digits for a channel number is 4 instead of the earlier 3..might be because of the increase in the no. of HD channels.
Have anybody noticed any other change apart from the look?

Yes the UI has been upgraded with the faded effect but theres a problem. Channel changes are delayed and slower, theres a lag while surfing.

Channel changes are delayed because now we can enter 4 digits for a channel.
so after we enter the 3 digits of a channel, it waits for us to enter the 4th digit if any.
I have started to use '0' before the channel (for example 0305 for set max) to make the channel change faster.

I'm not saying those type of channel changes. More like while surfing through favourites or just the ch +/-.

It is sequence as follows -

press "Organizer" -> "System Settings" -> "0" -> "1" -> "Select"

Now follow instructions. Do it at your own risk and do not blame me.

Yes, I have a similar issue, the sound does not go off completely but the volume reduces for a few seconds and comes back to normal.

It happened 2 times in yesterday's match.

On Saturday I was facing a peculiar problem in my TSHD.
After every channel change, the channel info on the bottom was staying on till I press the back button. Also the volume indicator used to stay permanently.
On Sunday however it was back to normal
