My parents back in my village use DishTV. It's been working fine since we bought it 2 years ago. No complaints so far.

Tata sky all the way - no complaints for the last year and a half. Heard from a few colleagues that the Dish EPG is very inaccurate and incomplete.

Airtel Digital TV. Except a disruption in a recent storm here in Gurgaon (misaligned) all has been fine.

The install experience was wow - professional, clean install - they wore gaiters(?) over the shoes while installing, and even cleaned up the minor dust/mess post work.

We are using DishTV for more than 2 years.
Nothing exactly wrong with this.

I dont know if this is required here or not, but a few words:

1) Locate a place that has the minimum obstructions towards pointing towards sky. Main disturbances in vision of line for dish are Balconies. Place you dish such that minimum of these come in way of dish pointing towards sky.

2) Make sure that the dish moves minimum to do wind, etc. If possible make a glass box or a box from plastic, must be transparent. Cover the entire assembly with this. If you do this then even during rain, you will not face any disturbance in transmission.

and a funda - neither of the above has MPEG4. You need Airtel or BIG TV for MPEG4 quality.

Esp if you DONT have a LCD

I have Tatasky in Bangalore and Dish at hometown. I would recommend Dish for more South Indian channels (Mallu) than TataSky. Of course SunDTH may be better now. But I feel picture quality and other additional options such as Active interactive channels are better in TS. Again Airtel may be better now.

when they talk about picture quality. i dont think anyone can beat tata sky.

dont forget the word "sky". sky corp is a british company. who are the best in the business. just go and look it up on the net. youll know what i mean. they have the "technical capabilities and advanced experience in this field of business. thats why its the best in terms of quality.

Have got Tatasky+ (the one with recording facility) for the last one month. It's mind-blowing, particularly after plain vanilla cable. The recording options mean that my kids can schedule their programs, I can record all the movies I always miss, and the entire experience so far has been great.

I have used Dish TV, TATA Sky & Airtel Digital. Without batting an eyelid, I would say Airtel Digital stands apart.
