I have Tata-Sky in my room and hate it!

1. Bad weather : No signal. But its more reliable than the hathway connection that we have.

2. Clarity : Have posted earlier on this. It absolutely sucks on my LCD. Hathway is far better on the same TV.

Oops, I was planning to go for Tata Sky, but after hearing all these issues, have to drop the plans.

How good is Dish TV?

If you are not one of those "Early adopters", please wait till SUN launches its DTH. You would see better deals from all DTH players then

After reading this thread, I guess I should ask my folks to look into Dishnet then.

Finney has finally managed TWO posts without Fabrica Italiana Automobili Torino in it?

SUN DTH will give more local channels, which I don't want.

I preffered to have Hathway Digital, but Hathway service in B'lore sucks big time!

So I have to decide between Tata Sky and Dish TV!

Well I don't know why in south Tata Sky has bad service. I get excellent reception with signal quality very good. Its miles better than my previous cable connection.

I heard BSNL is coming up with IPTV very shortly. I wonder how that compares with Tata Sky or DishTV. I will wait till that and then will go for a good connection.

Its not only Tata Sky that has this issue. Even Dish TV is no better when it comes to monsoons. I get this "no signal" thingy everytime heavy rain starts. And yesterdays papers carried a story that the problem will continue for some time to come.

Though Dish TV clarity is really good.

Have used both & don't face too many problems around here but then we don't get lashed by the rains like you guys do too! Have to say though that the UI of Tata is much, much better than Dish and don't even get me started about Dish's service support.

DTH uses 'ku' band which is susceptible to rain unlike C band used by cable wallah. so rain interruption is common phenomena is DTH platform irrespective of operator
