Hi IndigoXLGrandD, I have somewhat a similar requirement too.
what you should be looking at is a CISS (Continuous ink supply system) adoptable model. That is one should be able to use an external ink tank to replenish the inks from off-market ink suppliers.

For a CISS printer you can look at Epson or Brother.
AFAIK, HP and Canon do not support CISS. So you need to buy an expensive cartridge every time you run out of ink.

I have been using a HP 3515 all-in-one for the past few months. Works great and the ink is about to run out after about 480 pages. The black cartridge is about 470 bucks, so for BW prints it comes to roughly Re.1/page. There is also the option of refilling the cartridges rather than buying new ones every time.

Inkjets are anyway better suited for people with low printing requirements. Laser works out cheaper in the long run if the usage is high.

Picked up a HP 3545e from Amazon for 5k on a deal. Looks really nice and 'corporate'. Will post once same is actually used :-)

Done deal!! Thank you for resolving my 5+ months confusion. I'm going to buy the same & no looking back or regret, 'cause I'm unable to decide upon myself as what I need.

Amazon's price now is Rs 5899 & Snapdeal is Rs 5399. Looks like you got THE BEST deal!

I have decided to buy AIO Inkjet Printer with Ink Tank System (CISS).
The reason for going CISS is that there is no refilling "jhanjat" associated with these. Just Pour and use. Even if I am not in town, any body can pour ink in the reservoir and thats it.

Should I go for Epson L210? Or any other brand?
I am not happy with HP AIO Inkjets (Have bad experience with Two of Them- 4355 and 3608) and Canon MX308. All of these three are not repairable in my city at least.

How is Brother Brand?

Also in case if I buy online, (COD), would I lose Warranty from the respective manufacturer?

Can you let me know your review? I'm planning to buy one this weekend.

I too own the 3545, 7 months old now and a very satisfied customer.
It was mainly for my childrens school projects.

It also does good photo prints on glossy paper.

Bought it from Flipkart with an offer of free set of extra cartridges.

The ink-cartridges are relatively low-cost and the ink supposedly does not dry even if the printer is left unused for weeks/months.

HP 3545E price has increased in Amazon & Snapdeal considerably. Flipkart, Shopclues are not selling any lesser. Waiting for over a week to see if the prices will come down & they aren't.

Meanwhile, could anyone guide as how good on the below printers, in the order of preference, would fair for simple household purpose. It will be used primarily for kids for any school project work, once in a year or two to print IRCTC ticket (incase we're able to book them successfully)
