Ipod Nano help

I have the first generation 2gb Nano. of late it has started giving problems. It keeps asking to be restored, I follow the instructions and restore the ipod, this cleans out the songs stored there, etc. Two days later, same story. Is it the batetry or is it some other hardware problem? How much is a new battery?

The new battery is half the price of the nano.. And you have to send the ipod to apple guys and they will have to replace it. I would suggest you format the ipod completely once and then update it with songs. This used to help in the previous gen ipods (mini for instance)

Hi, Got the fix from the Apple website. It appears I need to reset the Nano. Pressing the menu and select buttons together for 10 sec does the trick. Only problem remains that I need to reset the nano almost every day. Cannot seem to get a reference for this problem. I have updated the firmware, but still no cigar.
