Also please advice if i can get a better deal anywhere else in Bangalore.
As mentioned, fz35 prices have crashed. But Panasonic India is slow to respond. Online prices reflect the new prices. (19,500/=!!!) Buy if you can get Company Warranty. JJMehta, Shoppercom.in, naaptol.com, etc

Proton - Are you sure the price mentioned on naaptol website is for a brand new piece with manufacturer warranty? If this is the case i am ready to wait for a month or so for the panasonic dealers to sell at the same price as nnaptol.

Hi Torque123, I bought the tz7 from the Koramangala Shop for 23,750/= because I wanted to enjoy the camera straight away! I know I could have waited for a friend to bring in one for me, but some shots are once in a lifetime...

I have bought from jjmehta before, and they offer a 3 month sellers warranty. Karthik is a good guy, a straight shooter. The lumix fz35 is listed there now for 22,500/=.

A few posts back, someone mentioned pieces on ebay India, without warranty, opened box, handcarried from the US. Personally, I would not go that route.

The GH1 is listed on Panasonic brochure for Rs 99998/=!!! when the international price is only 1200/=USD. I don't know if the brand shops will reflect worldwide prices anytime soon.

Hope this helped.

In most of the cases, such cameras are open box cameras. People either smuggle it from US/get it from US with somebody coming from there. I had been to Alpha shop in Andheri for FZ35 in Oct 09. He was having a piece on display, I played around with it and asked for box pack. He told me the camera I played with, is the one I would get (22.5K). This is called "open box". No warranty nothing. At max they give seller's warranty if the piece is genuine and carried from outside. Another problem is, you never know if the camera you are getting is a new piece or re fabricated and sold in US/any other country to them. Such cameras are very cheap and get manufacture's warranty in the country they are sold. But we get no manf. warranty.

So its your call. If you know somebody who can bring it for u from outside, then its the best and safe deal, still no warranty in India. But at least you know the piece is good and genuine.

@hegdegg- I oredered mine for $369 plus a 4 Gb card free. I already have chargeable batteries & a Gorillapod. I would buy a bag once the camera arrives from Pune itself.

As I have been searching for a good Digital camera I found out this two good camera's. One is Nikon D - 3000 (As recommended from from TBhp.) and other is Canon power shot G10.

Comparison Canon Powershot G10 vs Nikon D3000 Compare Digital Cameras

Please suggest me any other option also.

You'd want a pocket cam or slr? The G10 is bad for low light, the newer G11 is supposed to be lot better on that front. If I were you, and camera size didn't matter, I'd pick the D3000/D5000. You should also check out Panasonic LX3.

Thank you for your response. Let me tell you one thing I am newbie as far as this world of Camera and photography is concern.

1. What I know is higher the Megapixel the better is the quality of photograph. Canon has 14.7 Megapixel and Nikon has 10.2 Megapixel.
2. One more thing which is Display Megapixel in this front also Canon is a better option.

Thank you.

EDIT:-

http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/compar...3000-4311_4509

In this Canon has less Megapixel.

Well you are comparing an entry level DSLR with an advanced Point & shoot.

Besides 10 Mp is good enough for most of the applications.

@RJ For starters G10 will be very advanced, check out CANON 1000D and NIKON D3000 at a camera store, buy the one you feel comfortable with. Comfort in terms of holding the camera, the weight, the button placement, the menu etc. Both these camera and the G10 offcourse will keep you happy in all situations. Megapixels dont matter much and 10MP is more than enough.

27500 is ridiculously high when you get it for 19700 with 6 months vendor warranty from sites like smartshopper.in..these are high precision optical equipments which are tried and tested so you should be fine with a 6 months warranty.
