Please do try some party shots and share your photos. Let's not jump into conclusion too early. Quote:

Since I am not much experienced in the field of digicams, can you please suggest if there is any other good brand or model costing around 6000 or so. My main use will be shooting marriage functions where you have to click photos with flash after just a small delay of say less than 2 or 3 seconds if possible. Thanks for the help. ![]() Zenster; you have got a good signature ![]() Last edited by Chipz : 2nd April 2010 at 07:19.

| ![]() Hey Folks, Suggest me a good camera within a budget of 550USD. Many of my friends suggesting me against buying anything other than Nikon/Canon/Sony in that order. I was pretty impressed with the features that the Fuji HS10 provided, but again the same speculation of to go for Fuji or no as they do not use the Carl/Nikkor lenses (speculated to be the best) I am right now looking to buy Nikon D3000, Suggest ASAP |

cyclops; Fuji J250 is shown in their site as a discontinued model. I think A170 has more features at the same 10 MP. I do not know about the picture quality though. EDIT: Choosing a camera is more tricky than choosing a wife ![]() Last edited by Chipz : 2nd April 2010 at 10:27.

From my experience, photos from Fujis require some sharpening. As you said, Carl Zeiss produce real sharp photos. Alternatively, take a look at Canon SX20IS, Sony HX1 Quote:
Why don't you try ordering online. It is a good camera for this price. Fujifilm FinePix AV100 12 MP, 3x Optical Zoom - 2 Years Manufacturer Warranty Last edited by para_7k : 2nd April 2010 at 13:43.

Fujinon lens is not inferior either. and D3000 is SLR. If you are ready to live with an SLR, you should not even be looking at HS10. Quote:
I don't have experience with Fuji. But I am buying HS10 for it's features, not for image quality. it will be most probably be worse than FZ35. I am pretty sure there are professionals who will post their reviews before mine, but I will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding operation etc.

1. manual zoom is a little too tight to smoothly zoom in during a video. 2. controls are complicated. need some time to learn. to change movie mode one has to navigate thru the menus. 3. in evening somewhere i screwed up IS settings. coudln't get a a decent portrait of my constantly moving son. again refer to point 2.
