BHPian ![]() | ![]() royalcruiser, excellent pics, very professional. I am also using FZ100 but getting very noisy pics in low light. iA mode is worst, Program mode is good. Learning to get the best out of this camera. |

| ![]() Thanks, gopinathan. Some of the initial pics I took were noisy - but I've pretty much stopped using iA mode now. Stick to A or P mode. What settings are you using in low light? Not sure if you did a FW update? |

| ![]() well, I should be able to let you know if there is a difference in a few days - I just did an update yesterday. Nevertheless, its always advisable to use the latest FW for any gadget. Take a look : DMC-FZ100 Firmware update service | Digital Camera | Digital AV | Consumer Products | Support | Panasonic Global |

I advise against firmware upgrades for most things unless it cures a known problem or provides functionality that you need. Otherwise, if it is not broken, do not fix it. | |

| ![]() @lothirao, Fuji has just announced Fuji HS20, the successor to HS10 with a larger 16 MP EXR CMOS sensor which should potentially take better pictures. http://www.fujifilm.com/products/dig...pecifications/ It may take a while to reach Indian shores and it's also better for early reviews to be out before reaching a conclusion. If you are ok with 15X zoom, then take a look at F300 EXR. Amazon is selling one for $199 now. It's a hard to beat compact at that price. I got the "now ancient" F70 EXR for $179 a couple of months back ![]() I've no idea about Fuji service in India. | |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Hi Guys, I am in for a point and shoot camera for my wife, though she likes to be clicked and I will be the designated photographer. Kindly suggest which one should I buy. Canon IXUS 1000 HS/300HS/ Powershot S95/G12 or something new. CES 2011 just opened for the preview and the journalist are going bonkers over new range. But I need to get her one within this week. Kindly suggest. Thanks! |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() If I were you, I would look no further than S95...G12 should be next in priority and IXUS should be the last in the queue. Reason: S95 has gr8 pic quality...may be 5% better than G12.. On the positive side S95 is much lighter...on the negative side, S95 does not have swivel screen Rajeev Quote:
