In Japan, the prices of electronic stuff including cameras is bit more than in India, hence not a ideal place to buy such stuff, but you have a large variety of brands & models to choose from.

The top dept stores like Yodobashi, Bic camera have a good collection of Cameras, but prices may be more than in US, India etc.
They have point system, where you get 10 - 20% of the price of an item as Points, and you can redeem those points as cash to buy anything from the store, the catch is that the marked price is bloated up to make up for the points.

Guess That is a virtual map. Can stitch several full rez images together with w/o to make that. Advantage is that one can enlarge any point to get fantastic detail.

Check this out Hard Rock Memorabilia (need silverlight installed for it though)

bought a Sony H10 with Carl Zeiss lens - Macro capability, 10X Zoom, 8.1 MP.
Superb results so far

clearly the carl zeiss lens makes a heck of a lot of difference when comparing with other cameras IMO

would like a DSLR but later
this is good for now

Folks,

Any comments on the new W210/220 from Sony? I am looking for a compact point & Shoot and the Bangalore retailer told me to wait for this as it will be available in few days.

Thanks

I notice some dust and a smudge on the lens of my P&S Canon Powershot A540.

What is the best way to clean it ?

A microfiber cloth/spectacle cloth.
Don't use cotton.

according to me for pure point and shoot reqmnts please buy a compact sony with a carl zeiss lens. most of these can simply be hooked onto your belt if you buy a simple case logic camera case. easy to access, easy to use, just point and shoot!!

for 3 years I used a Sony DSC T9 and got superb results with it.

print ready quality of photos.

worth it IMO

cheers
