Gurus of Panny

May i request you to suggest the (pictues)
* best possible programmable settings for Daylight shooting( eg. iso 80, f# 1/x blah blah)
* best possible programmable setting for Moving stuff

I would like to save them in the savable programme menus of fz35. Ofcourse it goes without saying that it differs individual to individual, but no harm i see

What is the retail price of FZ35? Grey one with one year shop warranty is available for 18k in Cochin. How much is for the white one?

Well, this was just an indication of the probably the lowest prices for FZ35. I did not wish to advocate use of this site. Given the concern you mentioned below, I guess some BHPian from the "KL-32" area will be able to guide you better

Congrat's, why did you chose Canon over Fuji as HS10 comes for the same price but extra 10x zoom over the former.

What other models did you try before finally going for the sx20.

@ Ampere, Try to get a Panasonic FZ100 from the US. When it comes to Superzooms Panasonic & Canon are always a cut above the rest.

Hey Thanks. Any specific Canon make you would like to mention? Then I can go and check out reviews. FZ100 is definitely under consideration. Just wanted to know about others as well.

Ampere,

Canon SX20 IS is good but then I guess it is due for an upgrade shortly. If you are willing to wait you will get a Canon upgrade which will be matching or bettering the Panasonic line. There are other contenders like Nikon, Fuji, Olympus etc but when it comes to Super zooms they are definitely not as good as the Panasonic & Canon at least as per Dpreview

Sathya, i was at the same cross roads, but in an SLR way. I ended up with a non SLR cam but with entry level SLR like features. Given your budget and specs, we are spoilt for choices. Really. With the little research i did, here are answers
1. Nikon L110 if you can bear with the AA batteries
2. Canons perform pretty decent in low light. Lookup dpreview.com for choices in your budget
3. I personally prefer the Lithium to AA as they are less cumbersome. Having said that, i picked up one with AA, just for the sheer picture quality and ease of use.

Thank you San. My original criteria of evaluation was SLR's within Nikon and Canon. Due to budget constraints, i settled for a PnS. In PnS category, i tried Nikon P100, HX1 and Canon SX 20 IS. I picked Canon for the picture quality, the complete manual override features ala an entry SLR and ease of use. I didnt even venture around other brands as i was already too confused but spoilt for choices.
