You are welcome, lowlight or action photography is not the strength of E-500, but I hear E-510 has made great improvement in this area.

It is ISO800, in Olympus E-500 anything above 400 is noisy. This is something they have fixed in E-510.

Ok guys thought I share this with you all. Am not much of a DIY'er, but then last weekend I came up with this idea of making an insert for the DSLR backpack.

Had mentioned earlier I dint want to spend 4/5 grand on a DSLR bag. This is what I had in mind



Have a brand new wildcraft bag which was lying un-used, ended up with the idea of making this insert.

Am almost done with the making of this , will post pics soon .

The Kit lens 18- 55mm is not that bad as people say it is, I did a lot of experiments with it and was very happy with it, (unfortunately the lens got stolen).

What I am trying to say is it's not worth selling the lens, because you wont get much out of it, as a brand new lens coat less than 4k. For the price, it will always serve you as a good back up lens.

I am not selling it because it is bad, but because I have no use of it. I am trying to raise money for a 28-135 with IS. I badly need IS to get any decent pictures plus the 28 - 135 range means it can stay on camera all the time without resorting to 70 - 300 (I plan on selling this one too).

Most of us here (Rudra included) have no IS on any of our lenses. What makes you think IS is going suddenly improve your images? Wrong expectations.

There are 3 important things that can improve your images drastically:

1) Learning how to expose your images.
2) Learning how to compose your images.
3) Learning how to do basic post-processing using any PP tool, even free ones like Picasa.

PS: Note I don't mention anything about equipment.

If you want to shoot without a tripod or flash in low light, an IS will allow you to make sharper images. IS also come in handy during dark, overcast days.

But should you pay extra for a lens with a built-in stabilizer? This I think is more of a personal choice and opinion.

28-135 on 1 1.6x crop? you will be limited in landscapes.
I suggest get an el cheapo 10-20 sigma to go with the 28-135.

I wouldn't say the Sigma 10-20mm is a cheapo lens (not to me).
I paid 21K for it. But it sure is worth every penny.

The canon EF 50mm f1.8 is a cheapo lens @4K. (inexpensive and fast with excellent optical quality).

Umm hellcat I was comparing it to other wide angles which cost upwards of 600$ in the US.
this one is 500$.
21K is actually am amazing price for this one

Agreed absolutely with all three but dont knock IS. Its fabulous and helps greatly especially when support is unavailable or unusable.

I have some amazing 1/3 sec shots in locations where tripods were not allowed. I feel having IS on ALL your lenses is well worth the expense.

Another area where IS is extremely helpful is in birding as well as in natural light macro photography. Thats why so many that I know have switched from Nikon to Canon - only for the range of IS lenses available.

I am not knocking IS, it is a very useful feature. In fact my next dSLR body will have sensor based IS. My comments were directed towards the statement "I am trying to raise money for a 28-135 with IS. I badly need IS to get any decent pictures".
