I got the one which was referred to at Amazon (Amazon.com: SD to CF Type II Adapter (SD-CF II): Everything Else) - as you can see there have been quite a few mentions of buffer filling up after 8-10 frames. Someone has also taken the trouble of benchmarking it:

SANDISK EXTREME IV 4GB - 9 Seconds
SANDISK EXTREME II 2GB - 12 Seconds
ADATA 16GB - 14 Seconds
Adapter + ADATA 16GB SD - 18 Seconds

As you can see, it is the SD card itself which is getting limited.

So for me, it seems pretty OK and cost effective. SD cards are getting dirt cheap, and I expect them to be get faster ... and cheaper!!

Anymore suggestions/prices for bags.. please let them coming... thanks a lot guys!!!

This might seem like a really dumb question, but I am using a Panasonic camera, and every time I click the shoot button, it takes 3 pictures/ clicks thrice. I really cant figure out how to make it stop doing that. Any ideas?

Checkout the winners of Popular Photography Editor's Choice.

Editor's Choice 2008: Advanced D-SLRs - - PopPhotoJune 2008
Editor's Choice 2008: SLR Lenses - - PopPhotoJune 2008

I own the dSLR category co-winner, and lusting for the the lens co-winner. But the price is a show-stopper.

The trajedy of being in Olympus family is exactly this, I have to buy bodies and lenses without trying or even seeing them. Not that I have been disappointed until now. I guess I'll have to order and await the lens.
If you are interested I can touch base with Sigma distributor here and find out if he has 10-22 for Oly mount.
I can also take you to the Olympus distributor in Palika Bazaar, though I doubt that guy will have anything much

Meanwhile the Sigma 10-20mm for 4/3 mount is also listed as one of the top runner-up lens.

I need the lens much before that so that I can use it from the beginning of the trip. So I may have to get it faster. Just got finance minister approval for this one.

Ok, try to buy it from Bangalore then. Thats the only place you will get that lens.
You can also use international shipping from bhphotovideo. Its 100$ extra.
Best option is ofcourse get it by someone coming from the west

Boss is coming next week, he is willing to carry it.

Meanwhile, new dilemma. Should I consider 12-60mm instead, saves me from carrying two lens, but is 12mm (24mm EFL) a compromise compared to 10mm (20mm EFL).

I currently have 14-54mm (28-108mm) as my primary lens.

Perfect Choice: Zuiko 7-14mm (14-28mm EFL) at $1520 (don't have the budget for this)
Next Best: Sigma 10-20mm (20-40mm) at $575
Compromise choice: Zuiko 12-60mm (24-120mm EFL) at $800

The last choice makes my current 14-54mm redundant and free to be sold. I can manage with just one lens, is that worth it?

People who have experienced both 20mm EFL and 24mm EFL regularly please tell me what I should do considering I am stepping into the ultra-wide angle.

I need to decide and order the lens by today.

..go for this. However Zuiko 7-14mm (14-28mm EFL) would be a nice choice if you’re too much into wide angle photography.

Actually this is the perfect combination for pure holiday trip and well, most of your 4X4 trip shooting.

Is EFL same as 35mm equivalent? Could someone explain what you guys are talking about in the lens i.e. Zuiko 7-14mm (14-28mm EFL).

What does the 7-14mm mean? is 14-28mm the 35mm equivalent focal length?

edit: just read my own post after posting. Does EFL mean equivalent focal length?

Vidyut, your logical deductions are accurate.

I added the angles to the table.

Company FL Aperture Angle
--------------------------------
Zuiko 7-14mm F4 114-75 (The best ultra-wide angle lens in the world across all SLR families)
Zuiko 9-18mm F/4-5.6 100-62 (Not released, no reviews, not weather-proofed unlike the rest)
Sigma 10-20mm F/4-5.6 94.5-56.8 (Main contendor, can't replace primary lens)
Zuiko 11-22mm F2.8-3.5 89-53 (Slow AF, can barely replace primary lens, limited tele range for standard zoom)
Zuiko 12-60mm F/2.8-4 84-20 (Can replace primary lens, with E3 provides the fastest AF in the world, about 170ms)
Zuiko 14-54mm F2.8-3.5 75-23 (My current primary lens)

Currently I have 75 degree max. With 12-60mm I can still manage with one lens and get 84 degree max. I don't want to consider 11-22mm, too much money to get too little.
If I need anything more than 84 degree, I need to have two lens, can't manage with one.

My current dilemma is this. Is 10 degreee (94 degree of 10-20mm vs 84 degree of 12-60mm) worth the trouble of carrying one more lens? Also notice the difference in their aperture.

That describes most of us here. So, Nikon is not the only answer. The entry-level dSLR market is very crowded these days.
