Voxtel launches GPS, Internet telephony Global telecom major, Voxtel, today announced its foray into the Indian market with the launch of high performance GPS (global positioning service) based personal navigation devices and Internet phones or VoIP (voice over Internet protocol).
With this, Voxtel Telecom, a part of the $500 million telecom giant of UK-based BEIL (Binatone Electronics International Limited) Group, entered into the $18 billion (Rs 70,000 crore) Indian telecom equipment market.
“India is emerging as a dynamic market for advanced technology products, especially in the backdrop of robust growth in the telecom, retail and automobile sector,” Voxtel Telecom chief operating officer, Mr Dino Lalvani, said announcing the move. “Voxtel wants to be at the forefront as regards providing the Indian consumers with latest design and technology.” To start with, Mr Lalvani said, the company is offering a gamut of advanced technology products, including digital cordless phones, VoIP phones and high performance GPS personal navigation devices (PND).
Briefing on the company’s expansion plans in India, Mr Lalvani said, “We are looking at India as a strategic hub to fuel our growth plans in Asia Pacific and Middle East region. We are in the process of expanding our Bangalore facility to cater to our global requirement of software services and research work,” he added.
