This thread originally intended for the RC version. I just now recycled it, as the M$ company is coming out with the real version. I think we need to edit the title of this thread tomorrow, by dropping the word "Rc".

Downloaded it last night.
Do I risk installing it or wait for someone else to take the plunge and report bugs/problems?

Hmm, too late for me. I switched to Vista in my notebook (Vista Home Premium), my home desktop (Vista Ultimate) and my office desktop (Vista Business).

Samurai, how do you find Vista Ultimate? Do you have a tv-tuner with it? Whats your system's configuration running Ultimate?

Got it as part of Windows Update last night, took about 20 minutes to download the 109mb and it seems to be working fine.

What is the Silverlight thing ? I installed that too yesterday, but I dont see any benefit from it.

Silverlight is supposed to be Microsoft's answer to Flash. It looks promising. MS have also entered into exclusive tieups with several online media houses for use of Silverlight. Lets see how things shape up.

The standalone download is 316MB. If you update using Windows Update, it is close to 115MB depending on how often you update your windows.

With Silverlight you won't miss any of the animations on Microsoft website. Except this, you won't miss anything else .
Silverlight is an attempt by Microsoft at flash, after everybody else have tried their hands.

Good!

Will try this tonight!

But say, has there been any 'Vista' features brought to XP? Like the look and feel and things like that?

Or is this just a bug fix?
