The download is resume supported and you can use a download manager to download the same as the update size is 336MB.

Early morning I download some tweaking software to increase the adsl2+ speed and I restarted the comp and it resulted in screwing up the Adsl mode/router settings.

Now when I tried resuming the download it was not happening, so I applied logic and opened google and typed windows validation, I just clicked on a random link for validation prior to download and viola the download started.

PS: You just need to validate your copy of windows XP and not download whatever the link throws up on the MS site.

Well I do feel that the processes are being excuted far more quickly and I can also see a general increase in the speed of normal tasks, it may be a placebo effect though.

BIG Mistake= did not benchmark the system before the update, did you?

I will wait a bit more till the full release version comes out. Microsoft doesn't rank high in my trust list.

LOL even I dont trust them but I am happy that even after Vista they are doing something for XP and after SP2 this is going to be very significant for MS and XP users, and I also know and have posted that is the pre release version !! and open for public testing.

Awesome! Just drives home the importance of XP, even a year + after the Vista being launched.

I await for the full release. For those who installed it already, what are the major differences?

TEN percent faster it seems: XP SP3, in fact, is the newest version of Vista's biggest rival, according to Forrester Research. "None of this bodes well for Vista, which is now more than two times slower than the most current builds of its older sibling,"

Do not expect any good words from MS:
Microsoft downplayed the significance of Windows XP SP3...."Windows XP SP3 does not bring significant portions of Windows Vista functionality to Windows XP," says MS.

Here is a company trying to spread bad words about its own product (XP) and the users are saying vice versa...!

Isn't SP3 a release candidate and not an actual release?
