Used P4 - how much damage?

I am looking for a used computer (preferably motherboard + proc + RAM only) for my cousin for basic use.

I want to know how much would be a decent price for a used P4 - 2.8Ghz + Intel 865 mobo + 2 x 512 MB DDR RAM. My cousin will buy the other components.

Someone has this config for sale, how much is a good price for me to offer him (just for the 3 items)?

Do you know anyone else who is selling their comp, I might be interested.

you can get an athlon + nforce mobo+ 1GB DDR2 Ram for 5k and it will consume less power, have better performance, and have 3 years warranty

no more than 2.5K - 3k for whole. I have a AMD Opetron with ASUS MOBO + 512 MB RAM and the computer vendor is only giving me 2K pfft Core2duo/X2/quadcore/dualcore technology

Thanks for your inputs...I am open to P4 or AMD Athlon or similar, but not Celeron or Sempron.
