Are you looking for wifi network increase, do you want it in one direction or omni direction??
there are simple antennas available for this.

The simple antennas dont seem to work. I have invested in two 8db omni-directional antennas and the sginal qulaity is the same as with the stock antenna of the router.

adityamunshi,
SP Road in bangalore does have 2.4GHz antennae. But I think that doesnt make much sense for you from Baroda. I will try to see to see if there any other vendors. We [company] usually get samples from different vendors, but I think the same isnt true as an individual.

vikram_d,
I remember reading somewhere that the stock antenna of linksys wifi router are usually 2dBi. So you should have noticed some improvement when you shifted to 8dBi. by any chance, did you try something like reaching across different floors ? then rotating the antenna horizontally would help.

Thanks so much crkishore. It'd be great if you could find a vendor in (or near) my city.

Thats why I asked if you are looking for omni direction or directional, The transmission power of the router remains same [usually around 30mw ]if you do not require omni direction than I would suggest the you go in for directional one. it's simple if you have the the antenna in one corner of your place and the all the access points are in one direction of the router than you'll get good signal. you have to decide what is your requirement. Also if there are thick walls between the router and access points than there well be a lose in transmitted energy.
