Exclusive: latest update on the hotly anticipated Nokia Tube

Call it Touchscreen S60, or iPhone killer or 5th generation Nseries or whatever you fancy. Its finally confirmed. Nokia (allegedly and unofficially) let some industry insiders know about the "Tube" or its competitor product to the iPhone. Rumors about its development were floating around on the WWW for quite some time now. See the above link and the following links for more details

"Tube" is the code name of upcoming Nokia's iPhone killer!

Everyone says the Nokia N97 will kill the iPhone, i say that is impossible !
B'cuz, The N97 will kill itself first !!

Nostradamus style Prediction by Dilin Anand

Lotsa reason for my above prediction besides the fact that i saw the omen. The omen came in the form of info that the N97 carries a Single CPU, 434 MHz ARM11 when the N95 I have has Dual 332 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 2420. A weak brain on such a powerfull phone makes it have more brawns than brains. I've written an article at Symbia! Inside.

Well, till is not multi touch, and till its the same Symbain S60, it's not killing the iPhone. [basically, till they get a capacitive touch screen, they can't come close to iPhone's experience]

iPhone users are a different bunch of people, iPhone is cool! and N97 doesn't seem to be that cool even in the demo videos.

Even if they had a faster processor, it'd just do what it does a bit quicker. That doesn't help it to take on the iphone's 'style'.

Functionally speaking? No good phone needs to kill the iPhone.

first they said 5800 will do now this i doubt any can even come close to the iphone.

Its windows mobile 6 i think.
It has got a host of features including widgets, 5 MP camera, 32gb Inbuilt memory expandable upto 48gb with a 16gb Microsd card.
3.5" screen
Qwerty Keyboard
Accelerometer.
A-GPS
Rotating Screen and much more.

I am surely gonna buy this phone even though i have an iphone at present.

anyone heard of the HTC magic.Now that is one hell of a phone.

and regarding the n97 well i saw the pics and i'm really not sure of the mechanical linkages in that very different slider system.it will be very delicate and prone to problems.

when nokia had major problems with the E90's simple hinge system i doubt that this system will be problem free.

Naah, Still the Symbian S60, some 5th edition I think.

I don't know, what apple's got in store for the next year, but the only thing that'll come close to apple's interface would be the Windows Mobile 7, that'll come in 2010.

The Nokia N95s slider system was the worst of, and i repaired mine by putting in scotch tape bw the loose slider clips. From how Nokia runs things, they probably did it purposefully. One of the main priorities of Nokia is to never build a perfect phone.

That's a good way to sum it all up, perhaps Nokia uses the term "iPhone killer" just to gain some advertorial mileage ?
