Yes, it looks like a complete charge / discharge cycle which can happen over multiple charging attempts. My iPad Pro which I use much more often than the phone has 22 cycles for the exact same 4 months compared to the 44 cycles in 16 pro. Following is from Apple’s website.

The way I look at it battery cycles are meaningless or let’s say may be meaningful to some people but still cannot be compared to things like assets or investments which are on a different planet subject matter wise.

But of course it’s a free world and anyone may calculate anything regarding their property and on their time. I was just sharing a perspective which may not be immediately obvious and could help someone.

Mobike008, you are guilty and as such are sentenced to buying the iPhone 17 Pro Max or whatever it may be called within 15 days of launch/availability irrespective of whatever battery you may be cycling on your 16 Pro Max or Tim Cook will stop your loyalty payments

Cheers

You've come close, yet missed my point. Me tracking my assets and investments gives me two distinct things. One it helps me plan my finances, two I derive pleasure playing with the numbers. How the latter happens is difficult to explain. It's kind of the pleasue we get when we solve a math problem, or fix a bug.

Meaningless? I don't know. How I derive pleasure seems to be different from how you would. Cos we are all different people. Let's leave it at that.

Re: The iPhone Thread : Issues with sharing photos

Hello bhpians, since yesterday, for some reason, my wife is unable to provide access to the photo album for Instagram, and the same is true for WhatsApp too. Checked via settings and now it shows as "Private Access". Searched the forum with no result, below is the link:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread...By=rank&page=1
https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comment...otos_in_ios17/

Has anyone managed to solve this stupid issue? Why is Apple trying to restrict users?

Edit: Issue got resolved with a restart.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Wow! 7 months and 164 cycles looks pretty good @mobike008 for a drop of 1% health.

For my iPhone 15, this has happened in just 83 cycles, 5 months. Not sure if that is really a bad sign. I have not found the battery backup of iPhone very impressive. Please note that I have come back to iPhone after long usage of Androids and I have not been a very careful user on Androids when it came to battery.

But somehow, I have been careful and mindful of charging cycles on iPhone and been maintaining a 20-90% range. I know 80% is recommended but that just leaves a 60% capacity to use and since the backup isn't great, it falls a bit short.

Will see how this holds in the coming months. Fingers crossed.

15 Promax was the worst iPhone that I used from all the versions.

I had similar issues of battery dropping at crazy percentage. You can search this thread to read my woe story.

I swapped for a 16 Promax and it is better experience.

But, I got bored of this one too and waiting for 17 Promax.

The only thing that excites me about iPhones is the camera as I take a lot of pictures and videos and in my opinion, their camera quality is unbeatable.

Cheers and hope your iPhone steadies out at a certain %.

Updating my battery percentage stats sticking to 5w charger: (95% max charging)

139 cycles -> has dropped to 99%. (8 months of usage)

Will see how long this sticks.

My experience with iPhone 15 Pro Max is different when compared to yours. Have been using it for 15 months, and the battery health has dropped to 93% after 294 cycles.

Now, updated to the 2nd version of beta developer of iOS 26, and although it's good, I feel the phone has become a bit laggy, though better than the 1st version of beta developer, which I didn't feel smooth.

Hope they will improve it with the next update.

Even I too am on the line in buying a 17 Pro Max, but will take time.

Re: The iPhone Thread

About 5 months into the ownership of the Iphone 16 Pro Max, and I have some "mixed" feelings in terms of the ownership. Here are my observations:

1) The IOS skin's look and feel is refined,no doubt. But it is also very standard, almost like a Toyota Corolla that is comfortable but with plain interiors.
2) I feel that some apps are not well optimized for IOS. I have issues with NDTV app, SBI Yono app and occasionally even with Outlook.
3) The phone is NOT (much to my surprise) as fluid and fast as I expected it to be, especially when having multiple apps open and switching. I have no hesitation in saying that the Vivo x100 Pro ( my ex-primary) is quite a bit faster and smoother as a comparison. Not to mention the cameras particularly the Macro mode is just next-level.
4) Having said the above, the IPhone camera does process natural colors well, and takes landscape shots better.
5) What works flawlessly is the Apple Ecosystem, still unmatched by rivals. My IPhone and Watch are fully synced up always.
6) Apple Intelligence- the less said the better. But, Siri does a good job "hands free" while using Apple Car Play.

Quite surprised here. As a long time iPhone+Android user I have never felt that any Android that I owned alongside the iPhone was either faster or smoother. Maybe that Oneplus 7 I had was faster than the iPhone 6S, but never smoother. Even the iPhone clone Pixel 9 does not come close to my 15 Pro.

After several months of trying to "like" Apple Intelligence, I finally got fed up and disabled it. Message summarisations are way off. Never afan of Siri, so disabled that also and now I have better battery life.

The Dimensity 9300 on the vivo x100 Pro almost never lags across apps, whereas the 16 Pro Max inevitably feels a bit sluggish after multiple apps are open. And especially so in situations of weak mobile signal. Evidently the chipset has greater raw horsepower, while the Funtouch skin feels unrefined in some places. I am not a heavy duty user of audio-visual content on a mobile phone, nor a gamer (not a single game installed).

Re: The iPhone Thread

Hi fellow peeps, I currently am residing in Pune. I wanted to ask whether anyone has any experience with buying US/global box pack units through mobile shops in Pune?

If anyone knows any trustworthy and reliable place/shop in and around Pune, please let me know.

Re: The iPhone Thread

A question on ESim transfer from one iPhone to another.

I have 2 ESim's (both Jio) in my 14 Pro Max. If I were to buy a new iPhone abroad, would it be possible to transfer the 2 ESim's to the new iPhone using the "Transfer from Nearby iPhone" feature while still abroad? Or can this only be done in India?

This is important to me as Apple is offering me a good buyback offer on my 14 in their UK and US stores, so tempted to upgrade while travelling. But I will need my ESim's/WhatsApp etc to work continuously while away.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

When I moved to Singapore last year, this was my doubt too. Airtel was very clear that the first time a new e-Sim is powered on, it HAS to latch on to a home network only, not a roaming network. So we had to buy a phone just before our India trip so that we could activate the new e-Sim in India.

Not sure if Jio has the same policy.
