My friend was there last week to pick an Iphone. There is a delay of 2 months if you place order in store. Rest of the places are charging premium of 20-30% minimum for instant delivery.

+1. Any idea whether this is for basebands 04.10.02 as well, or just for the others?

Looks like the thing coming out on Sunday is only for iPhone 3G/3GS. Still no news about iPhone 4. Source:

Goto iclarified.com and click in the unlock/jb red icon on top, select the device and see if the unlock is available for your baseband. I think you have updated to an OS version which is not yet unlockable.

OR post the exact OS ver and Baseband version after checking on the phone, under settings>general

I followed the steps of iclarified. this is the link: iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3G Using RedSn0w (Windows) [4.2.1]

it says 4.2.1 and baseband is 05.15.04. i didn't unlock it, i just jailbroke it. i followed the exact steps given in the link above. The only different thing i did was didn't select the options - custom boot and recovery logo and instead chose 'enable homescreen wallpaper'. could this be why it won't recognize my sim and say no service? or did i messed baseband? how to restore original baseband?

No that cannot be the reason. You have all the required files right? Just restore and jailbreak again should work. But please note it will work only with original sim on 4.2.1 since unlock is not out.

i have the original att sim, i will give it a try again, hopefully it will work. and if i want to jailbreak and unlock, i would have to use 4.1.0 or 4.0.2 to achieve both?

If you have upgraded to 4.2.1 you are stuck for now with unlock. Jailbreak you can do.

I'm confused regarding the bluetooth feature in this phone. What all can it transfer ? I have updated to 4.2.1 but still the bluetooth is in permanent "searching" mode and doesn't connect or read any other bluetooth mobile phones.

Only can work as a bluetooth phone connection and iPod playing for some car HU's. No file transfer etc in iPhone.
