The iPhone Thread
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/gadgets-computers-software/38465-iphone-thread-215.html)
Two things you can try. Switch off and restart if you have not done that, highly unlikely. Second try restoring the phone using iTunes.
Hey Jaggu
Just put the cut sim (joined it in the slot of the cut card) and put it in my 1st gen iPhone; it works!
Tried putting the same sim again in iPhone4, dint work. Right now the phone is a dud!
Jaggu - by restoring - should I update the software 4.3.3 I guess which is the latest.
Also am planning to cut my Airtel sim card; is there a good place in the suburbs (andheri west) that I can do the same.
Will wait to hear from you.
Thanks
The updates announced today sound great & are a lot more than just an upgrade, the iCloud is simply amazing & if it does what it says then God Bless Apple :)
New features in iOS 5 :
1. All new notifications - They are not the old annoying notifications we had on older versions of the OS, which make you stop what you're doing. Android style notifications system is now in place (Trivia - This notifications system was already out for jailbroken phones. A kid named Peter Hajas released this under the name of MobileNotifications 5. He was secretly hired by Apple as an intern and voila! We see why).
2. Rich text editing in mail
3. Split keyboard for iPad to assist typing with two hands while standing
4. All new lock screen that displays all notifications and lets you go to the camera directly
5. Hardware button to take photos! Press the volume up button to take a photo now.
6. Pinch zoom gestures to zoom in while taking a photo/video.
7. Background downloading
8. iMessage - Free messaging between iOS devices you own.
9. Free iCloud (Selected services, you get 5GB of space)
10. All new Safari - tabbed browsing now on iPad
11. All new interface for the music player, new slider buttons
12. Twitter integration
13. Wireless sync with your computer
Those are some of the key features on the new addition to iOS.

I am actually glad. After moving from 3GS to DEFY, I have found Android hell of a lot productive than iOS4. Good to see Android features trickling down to iOS5, it is time iPhone got more functional features apart from cool interface.

No thank you! its too precious for all that. I have done enough and more right from win phone days and still do for others. Win, BB, Android or iOS i do it! he he he
But android flashing is one of the most cumbersome i have come across, that i have to give it to them. :uncontrol
How many signal bars do you see? Mine was working fine (iPhone3) but one day I faced similar problem. Signal 1-2 bars and calls failing.
After few days while fiddling with it I updated the Cydia and it started working like a charm.
I am not sure what softwares you have in iPhone 4 but my point is that you can try updating the softwares on wifi. I am sure the wifi is working.

I hope this works globally and not just restricted to the US users. The Amazon cloud player for example does not work outside the US while the Cloud drive does.
Is anybody updating their phone with iOS5 and iTunes 10.3 with iTunes 10.5 ?
