Re: The iPhone Thread

iphone 5S is out I guess but not directly, just met one of my office collegues and he had the phone in his hand. He had somehow managed to get one in his hand through some channels I believe.

The price of 16gb phone is 54K.

Looks similar to the iphone 5 except the change in the center button which looks different and houses the finger print scanner aswell.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I visited a apple store during a recent visit to US. When holding a 5c, you dont feel like like you are holding a Iphone. With only a $100 price difference, buying a 5S over a 5c is a no-brainer decision and it probably explains why 5S is outselling 5c by a big margin.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Apple iphone has always been significant as a premium phone and thats the way it has been designed in terms of looks and feels. Now moving that entire experience to a plastiky feel is an insult to the whole desgin element brain which thought of it as a product IMHO.

My iPhone 5 32GB version is hanging almost daily with the screen becoming non-responsive. The solution is to restart the phone. So much for buying a premium smart phone. I am really frustrated.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Checked out the iPhone 5s and 5c at the Apple Store here in Singapore. The look and feel of the 5s was as expected, but I was pleasantly surprised by the 5c. It really did not look/feel cheap. I really liked the one in white. In the stock form (without any extra cover) probably the 5c maybe more easy to maintain than the metallic finish of 5s.

It's becoming more and more expensive. I don't think such a price is justified. I know the exchange rate is high currently, still this is kind of rip off!

If this is rip off wait till you hear this.

For the iphone 5s gold color, the current rate (black) is 20K over the cost of the phone itself.

I am not sure if you own an Apple product or not - If you do I am not sure why are you surprised at this pricing. I remember when Iphone 5 was released it was selling for Rs 50k. I phone 5S with a finger print scanner and updated internals is selling for Rs 53k. I think Apple is just continuing with their usual pricing policy.

I am however surprised at the pricing of Iphone 5C. It is higher than flaghips of all mobile makers I think (Samsung, Sony, LG)

I have been using apple products for sometime now including iPhone 5. iPhone 5 was 45500 when it was launched and bought by me on day 1. Yes it was a slight premium compared to Singapore or Hongkong price (cheapest unlocked sets with no restrictions). But not 10000 difference. Same with 5C it should be at 35-36 tops to make sense even at cheap slot of premium phones. Apple is just riding on the $ rate excuse. Same with its laptop and tablet models.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Ouch! 54k for a phone. That is going to hurt :(.

Sigh, I guess I will get an iPhone 5 for 42k now :(. The INR-USD fiasco is killing everything.

For the 5S, the difference between Singapore and India is around Rs. 5000 with the current exchange rate (India: Rs. 54,000, Singapore S$ 988 – Rs.49,000 approx.). The 5C surprisingly is priced exactly same at Rs. 42,000 (S$ 848) – all, 16GB models.

For 12K difference in India, the 5C is actually a good option (compared with the 5S) considering that it’s essentially the 5 with a plastic casing.

Yup 5C is definitely a better option meanwhile. I did a quick check of Airtel site price is not mentioned anywhere? Where are these priced mentioned for India? Any reliable sources? Or is it just speculation.
