WTH!! How is that even possible!? Did you get some exchange offer or something? I can't find anything less than 64K, anywhere. And, god knows, I've looked pretty much everywhere!

The iPhone Thread

Customers still lap it up because it's still the same price on contract for them. Only for sim free users in developed countries ,the prices seem to be very high ,especially when spending from our own pocket rather than dad's.
I am eyeing on a 5s for my sister. Currently it retails in USA for 30000 inr. If it gets down to 25000,I will find a way to bag it.

The only problem in buying from middle East is that face time would not work on your Apple device.

No Exchange. I saw this ad (iPhone 6+ 64GB Gold) on OLX and was stunned to find this deal. Infact, found it too good to be true and thought it must be a joke or seller too naive

Called and fixed the time to meet the person. He got this phone from US for his wife and it was too big for her and wasn't used at all.

I checked the apple website and it was purchased in Aug end 2015 ( I bought it mid-September) in USA and it was still covered in its original wrappings and box everything.

I paid cash instantly and picked it up

Sometimes OLX is a boon....

There are some great deals on iPhone 6 available now. If you don't want the 3D touch so badly the 6 is a great phone. I had swapped my iPhone 6 128gb with a iPhone 6+ 64gb via OLX only. Am happy with it and going to keep it for now. I think this time there will be loads of grey market sales for the 6+ because of the huge price difference.

Just checked with my brother, it is having facetime, weird. There was some convention going on there in Dubai, got it from there. Checked the serial number with apple website, its showing as valid purchase.

Thats strange. I had bought my Ipad from Dubai earlier this year and it didn't have facetime. On doing some research, I came to know that the Apple products being sold in Middle East do not have Facetime due to some local laws. Maybe that is changed now.

With the cash back on HDFC cards you can get it on Snapdeal for 28K if you are not too particular about the colour. Any particular reason you don't want to buy online in India?

There are online shopping websites like souq.com which do sell phones in UAE with facetime.
Officially du and etisalat do not sell phones with facetime.

A question for people with 16gb phones. Has there been a significant decrease in app size now that app thinning is in place? Also with no games can I survive a 16gb iPhone ? I have 3 GB songs that I need in my phone and maybe some photos. Will need pages keynote and numbers too.

Thanks

Where did you buy the ipad from? Is it from the official apple store? Planning to buy ipad pro, waiting for the launch, here in India and Dubai.

I am currently using iPhone 5S 16GB and find the storage to be less. Have to clear Whatsapp once in a while to have decent space. Luckily, now, once you backup the photos to computer the phone stores a compressed format of the same. After that update, I find the space to be usable. BTW, I don't have much songs also and not into gaming as well.

IMHO, if budget permits go for more space.

I think 16GB phones should die now. What happened to the 32GB?

Thanks. 32 GB is priced higher than expected. Will wait for a while for prices to decrease. Or I might just get the 16gb one and live with it. I'm able to keep 2-3 gb free in my Android phone, so ios will be enough I think. Need phone for just calls, text and photos once in a while.
