I love iTunes too :thumbs up. Using iTunes, I have perfectly organised my 4,000 song collection (tags, playlists, year etc.).

Just a note: There's an awesome app called iSyncR that helps you sync up Itunes with non-iOS phones. Works like a charm on my Android. Have been using it since a couple of years now. Even has Wifi sync so no need of cables.

Airtel users on iPhone - Are you getting this prompt saying /'new carrier setting available, press okay to update". Does anybody know what settings change does this bring?

The last time, I did this update, my 'Enable 3G/2G' button vanished. This feature was restored a year later when 4G was introduced.

The last time this prompt came up on wife's 5S, it changed the LTE symbol to 4G on Airtel sim.

The network was down on our phone (we couldn't make/receive calls) for about an hour after the update and then everything was nice and dandy.

Things like these makes me a little worried. It was so inconvenient when the removed enable 3g/2g buttons especially during low battery times.

I got this one a few months back. Harmless one. Not sure what the current one is up to.

Will look this app up. Thanks.

Any chance this app will side load on BB OS? thinking of getting that because of physical keyboard.

For those that have wired connection at office, you may use Connectify to tether or as an hotspot.

Guys just wondering if there is any app for fuel and mileage analytics for ios such as fuelio for Android and is free.

I use Fuel Monitor application for keeping a tab of my fuel consumption. Not the best app but does the job.

Free, no - but this is a great app, though it is ios only:
https://itunes.apple.com/in/app/road...298398207?mt=8

It has a free version that you can try out.

Is iphone 5s still a worthy buy? 32gb variant is selling for 27000.

Very honestly unless you just want an iPhone, not worth it. Go for 6 at the least since in near future support will stop for 5S and then you won't be able to upgrade OS.

Consider this, the iPhone 5S was released in September 2013. So its been around a while. It has a 4 inch screen and outer dimensions that make it feel tiny.

Even Apple of late has not been immune to going big and stretching their screens. Case in point the newer iPhone 6 and 6S have 4.7-inch screens, compared to the 4-inch screens of their most recent predecessors.
Those are some of the factors that in my opinion work against it.

Hardware wise though its still competent and for all practical purposes I would hazard a guess and say that you can still expect support from an updates perspective from Apple till early 2017 probably. Usually iPhone's get 3 years of software support. For example the 3GS went from iOS 3 to iOS 6. It's possible that the 5s could get iOS 11, but I doubt it.

I would say that on a practical note it might make sense, It's another story entirely to actually live with a two-year-old phone which is dated. Even if the iPhone 5S feels capable today; it could be pretty out of date by 2017.

I updated from a 3 year old iPhone 5 to a 5s 16GB in Feb '16. Somehow I find 4-inch screen to be most ideal for me (after using it for 3.5 years). I have no regrets as of now and I am sure I won't in future too. Also, regarding upgrades, I can say from my past experience that 5s will continue to get support till past 2017. It's just like 4s was getting upgrades for iOS 9.

BTW, I got it from Flipkart. There was an exchange scheme for old phones. I exchanged the old iP5 and got the 5s for 157xx INR.

Thanks all!! Got an iphone 6s. Citibank is running an excellent Cashback offer. Was tempted and gave in :)

Regarding iphone 5s - Is there an option to "not upgrade" to the latest ios? And for how long can one defer it?

Assuming the 5s would become slow with the next software release, and/or not supported in 2017. Wont it be possible to continue using it with the current ios 9?

I am seriously considering it because of its screen size and of course my limited budget. I just use 2/3 apps - whatsapp, evernote etc. No fb, no games. No movie watching on the phone.
