Yes, they do.

Same with names. When you enter an alphabet, say A, it will show all names that have names names starting with A, and names with A in it. And the search result get dynamically updated.

Eh? Of course they do. Unless I've misunderstood Sheel's question.
iPhone doesn't show contact suggestions on a "Keypad" like Android. It does in the "Contacts" gallery.

They did not earlier.

Will check my friend's Pro Max.

I think so. It never suggested names when you key in numbers, but when you start searching with alphabets, it does [which it should anyway].

I personally think, for other gadgets, Apple is the way to go, be it tablets [iPad], desktop [iMac] (I am not a fan of laptops ).

That would happen in September, I think. Phone's prices would see a cut at least 2 (?) months down the line?

Re: The iPhone Thread

Have iPhone 5S which started exhibiting issues like getting hot and screen not responding. Then the issue escalated as shown in the GIF linked below.

Is the screen gone bad and only option is change It or something?

I would take this with a pinch of salt. Historically, Apple has never reduced prices except once for iPhone 11 (compared to Xr).
The conjecture for reduced prices for 12 & 12 pros this year is probably due to another conjecture that they'll not ship with charging cable and earphones. Whether Apple would pass on the entire savings to the consumer is another matter altogether.
And how were the prices for iPhone 11 reduced? Even the sim ejection clip was a twisted wire instead of a single metallic frame.
I doubt iPhone 11 prices would dip substantially after 12 (heck even iPhone Xr prices haven't dipped by much).

I don't think it does in Android either. It used to happen in older feature phones like the old Moto Razer

Do check Battery health. My SE also gets hot on usage and the screen responds weirdly while charging. Was diagnosed to be a poor battery. Am waiting for this COVID 19 to settle down before getting a replacement battery.

The iPhone Thread

Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but off late when you swipe down from the top, you cannot access the widget to access wifi and brightness etc and however you swipe only the home screen shows up. And this is more so when you are in another app.

So if you want to increase the brightness when you are in an app, you need to come out of the app, to the home to access the widget swipe.

When you are in the home screen both the swipes work, the one where you see the home screen, torch etc and the other where you the brightness and few other widgets. Hope folks understand what Im trying to point out.

No such problems… swipe down from the top left give notifications panel, and swipe down from top right gives the control panel.

Even when you are in an app? I tried this over and over again, even after clearing all notifications. Like for example, Im now in the team bhp app and I have no notifications now. Right and left swipe both bring the same home screen. When I swipe from top on the left, I get the home screen and I have to swipe once more while being on this home screen to get to the control panel screen. I dont recall if this is how it was always or it is something that is an issue.

Really ignorant of me actually! I seem to have disabled this in the accessibility settings by mistake! Sorry folks!

I have been seeing the reports too, and I think it's more due to the EU regulations than cost cutting. I hope they will pass on the benefits to end user as well.

It makes sense for most of the users, I am using Pro Charger only because it's fast charger and charges much faster than the regular iPad charger (the 5W charger is joke). I also have amassed enough lighting cables that I can be a reseller on Amazon by now

Pretty amazing. My original cables get damaged near the plugs within 6 months. This from all Apple cables I've owned since 2007. Thankfully I'm now using an indestructible Amazonbasics one for the past 2 years.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Just wrap the frayed end with thin rubber sheet and you can reuse them. I'm using super tough ones you get to route cycle cables

I found amazon basics lacking in quality, I have no complaints from apple cables so far apart from them turning yellow after few years. But a single wipe from acetone brings it back to respectable condition.

What helped me is basically not moving the dedicated spot for the charges, I have one setup at desk and one in the car - this way , you don't mess/move the wires and it adds to longevity.

Your may be right here. Entire day the phone lies besides my home desk and barely gets touched so whenever a call comes or I am using for a minute for some reason, it all works fine.

But at night, when I try to use the phone for prolonged period, it does get warm / hot and screen starts responding weirdly.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Does it make sense to buy an iPhone 7 32GB variant now? I don't play high res games on mobile & want a fluid, safe and stock OS experience. My budget is 30k.
