Thanks. I used the correct string but, it doesn't show up. Don't know what I am doing wrong. Here is the screenshot of the log file and it shows a number 285 for nominal charge capacity.

What does the second nominal say in the file?

There are 2 fields

com.apple.power.battery.NominalChargeCapacity
com.apple.ioreport.BatteryNominalChargeCapacity

See if there is a difference between the 2. On my handset these seem to be identical though (iOS 14.8).

Nominal search string pulls up 2 key words with Nominal and both have the same number.

So finally the full family is on iPhone now! My wife was a steady Samsung Note user for the past many years. Yesterday got a mailer from our Telco on a few offers with the new iPhone re-contract, and with no Samsung Note this year I asked if she want to look at the new 13 Pro. Since moving from a Note 20 Ultra, the focus soon shifted to the 13 Pro Max. And then it all happened in a jiffy – put up the Note on sale on an online portal, and in next 10 mins an interesting buyer locked in with a good offer, passed the phone and accessories to him on the way to the store. And came home with the 13 Pro Max in Sierra Blue 128GB. The phone feels massive in hand, especially for 12 mini user :)

Can you share your experience of iphone 12 vs. 12 mini and your preference? While the size of the mini isn't too different from the regular 12, as per specs, it is much lighter. But battery seems smaller too which makes me wonder if 12 should be preferred.

I moved from an 11 Pro to the 12 mini mainly due to the form factor. As you said it’s so light weight and feel substantially smaller in pocket when compared with the regular 12 (or 11 Pro). The screen, cameras, internals all same but the smaller battery in the mini is what I find as the key differentiator. With heavy screen-time the 12 can get to the late evening, but with the mini a quick shot of charge maybe needed around afternoon teatime; so far not felt as a big hassle. The reviews say that the 13 / 13 mini have improved much on the battery-side, so maybe look at that option as well.

Another very trivial point – though the lightweight of the 12 mini (even the 12) is a boon most of the time, but somehow they lack the premium feel and heft of the pro models :)

My 6S's cycle count stands at a whopping 825 but battery health is at 88%.

Its just 2 years old, and I hope it can go for another year.

As I said, I am not sure why you are seeing this figure. I just checked my file which was downloaded a week back or so. I have a replacement battery (OEM) running now where Max full charge capacity /FCC is 1758mAH (1715mAH rated), with nominal FCC is currently 1683mAH. Hence current battery health is reported as 1683/1715*100= 99% (rounded off)

This is exactly after a month I got the battery replaced with cycle count @ 23.





Hello! Your battery health is ~87% which is very good for 825 cycles. My 6S battery was down to 80% in little over 2 years mainly due to heavy use in the lockdown when I used the phone as a WiFi hotspot. I could not check the cycles for the old battery as I didn't know the trick back then. But 825cycles/87% is excellent.

Alright, finally got around to ordering the iPhone 13 Promax

Since I used all flagship colors of iPhone except the gold, I decided to opt for Fort Knox this time. Yeah, this is my first time with a gold color phonerl:

I didn't like the new blue as it's just a lighter version of my Pacific Blue so didn't opt for it.

Only downside is the delivery date is 1-month down the line but, I'm in no hurry and I can use the 12 Promax for a longer time period and get the same value. But, I plan to change the delivery to "Pick-Up" and see if it's made available earlier. What I know from the customer service guy is that these phones are flying off the shelves and there is a massive backlog here in the US.

So will be paying just $13 bucks a month for new phone. Isn't that a sweet deal?:)

Now the iPhone 13 doesn’t support charging at 27w however Apple website says it supports fast charging with a 20w Or higher charger.

Hence i presume it’s safe to get the 27w and it won’t damage my phone in the long run?

For this price the 27w is working out cheaper than getting a 20w so might as well get the extra power for future

Hmm... I'd always suggest to go with the official Apple 20W charger.

And if not the brick, definitely use the official charging wire.

I think fast charging requires that you use a USB-C to lightning cable that supports USB-PD (power delivery). The supplied cable would be your best bet.

I'd recommend going for the original Apple charger like others here too. Compared to the cost of the phone itself the charger is a nominal cost to protect your phone and give you peace of mind which is a risk you'll have to take with other brands.

The iphone 12 at the said price is a really great VFM considering the improvements it had over the iphone 11(the OLED screen,5G). The iphone xr though outdated can be used as a good second phone.
The iphone 12 mini deal has not been revealed yet, However it may be in the range of 40-45k

Apple is milking XR & SE. In 2019 sale bought XR for around 35,000. In 2020 big billion day sale, bought SE for 25,000.
