Even I'm using the normal SIM cut down to the size of micro sim (as o2 micro sim was out of stock when i went at store last)

anybody using BSNL in Delhi? Is their 3G service any good? Also what about the data plans? Is it sufficient for an iphone/ipad?

If number portability was here, I would have bounced from Airtel months ago! Headed to Europe this weekend and will pick up the iphone4 & ipad. While I will use the iphone with my Airtel number, I'm thinking of getting a new BSNL 3G number for the ipad.

So anybody who has used or is using the BSNL 3G service in Delhi - Would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks!

Joe mate, thanks a lot for your advice and as it turns out my iphone corresponds to O2 Ireland/UK as well. Please check your PM.

So i installed OS4 on my 3GS yesterday. Apart from all the listed features, i really liked the following two:
1. Now i have ITunes on my phone
2. The camera's shutter has become super quick!

Cheers

Just replied again. Dont go and pay anyone for the unlock unless you are really desperate and have total faith on who ever is handling the phone.

Here's a video shot entirely on the iPhone 4 camera (720p).

No colour correct was applied, but some image stabilization was done during post processing.

Pretty impressive :

thats awesome clear video for a mobile phone.

Also found this, Apple says that the bar showing signal strength needs change of algorithm, as it may not be showing true signal strength

Guys, i am contemplating on getting an iPhone from the Apple Store (US).

It says that a 2 year contract with AT&T is mandatory and the phone would work only for AT&T. But i saw few posts here that say otherwise, i.e; that any iPhone bought from Apple store can be used with any GSM operator.

Can anybody help me with this?

Also, which is a better buy? The iPhone 3G or the new iPhone 4?

probably you meant 3GS? if you are buying an iPhone now, it has to be iPhone 4.

The problem has been acknowledged by Steve Jobs. But wi-fi experts says, software update won't solve the problem. It may change user's perception that problem is solved, but in reality it won't.

Why Apple's iPhone 4 Update Won't Fix Your Reception Problem

i am worried if the problem is gonna stay forever or not, i am upgrading in September, hope to get some good news to upgrade.

Most new users have complains about battery exhaustion at a faster rate. Either that or they are fiddling with the phone too much to realise they have used it more to explore it recently. The iPhone is very clear and the graphics are distinctly better than the previous versions. It looks better too. Without a contract it is retailing for 699$ and the previous version for 599$. People who have an ongoing contract with AT&T and who are interested in getting the new one are being advised to continue the old contract by giving the old phone/SIM to some relative by adding a new member for 25$ and buying the new phone for 199$ for a 2 year contract.

Thanks for the reply.

I am skeptical about the iPhone 4 for those reception problems. Yes, i meant the 3GS. 3GS is not good enough? And both the 3GS and 4 can be used in India with any GSM operator?
