Solution is to get remove the screen guard and get a proper one fixed at an apple auth store.
Appreciate the answer hangover however the screen guard is 9 months old and no technician except last week at maple has touched the fone after the problem had started. Checked the sensor which is clear. Also it happens only when physically Operating the mute button.

Ok so my wife managed to crack the iPhone 6 screen so was left with two options - 1. Pay 23K to Apple and have a replacement handset 2. Pay 7500 Rs to gadgetwood.com and have the screen replaced and 1 year AMC, have chosen the latter. Will keep all posted on the quality of work.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Guys, after the recent 8.4.1 update, facetime has disappeared from my Dad's iPhone6. Its not showing in the settings either. Any tips on how to get it back or is restoring to factory the only option?

You might want to check if Kuwait has blocked Facetime, my UAE handset had the same. Facetime was locked and hence would not show on the phone or settings.

I wish that was the case. Mother is based out of Kuwait. Facetime works perfectly on her iPad (used today morning). Frustrating problem!

http://appadvice.com/appnn/2010/10/apple-tells-facetime Yup seems like it is not blocked in Kuwait.

So next think to try is do a complete restore and see if it is popping back up, before syncing with a back up, check if the facetime settings are coming up. If so first activate phone and they sync with the back up.

Please ensure you take a complete back up before you start with the restore.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Need your advise in getting a charging cable for iphone 6.

The questions arising are:

1. Should I go ahead and buy something from ebay/amazon?
2. What brand should I buy? There are established brands whose cables are available at dirt cheap prices and then there are some with sky high prices.

Pls advise.

There are a few established cable brands in the market like belkin and others which are slightly more expensive but better quality than others. It's upto you. However most cheap chords wear out easily and are not compatible with aspects other than charging. Eg my brand new unbranded charging cable would charge but when connected to the cars audio or amplifier say 'Accessories not supported'. It's always safest and best practice to buy the original which is a one time investment but works for years to come.

Regards,
Its not banned in Kuwait. My mother uses it on her iPad Daily. Its only after this update that its not showing up. That is what is bothering both of us.

Try Rock cables from Amazon. It has auto-disconnect as well as a LED ring. My friend and I have been using it for over a year. No problems faced yet by either of us.

Looks like it does'nt come with LED any more. Hope auto-disconnect is still there though.
