Re: The iPhone Thread

My 11 bought on 25th November, 2019 is showing the battery health at 98% in just a bit more than 2 months.

Is this normal? Ideas/suggestions please.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Where to find best deals on iPhones in Singapore, either on airport duty free or in city? Thanks.

Previously we didn't have this %age wise battery health tracking on the iPhones and we were comparatively at peace with it. But since they introduced this assessment in form of a particular number, we users are worried at every point drop.

In my experience, my phone's battery on an average lost one percent each month till it reached 93%. It has been steady there since 2-3 months now. Can't say what happens further down but I would say that's normal. Just follow the normal precautions that you would take with any li-ion battery.

Regards,
Saket

Good point Saket, thanks.

Comparatively, my Wife’s 8 Plus after more than two years shows the battery health at 94%. Go figure

Perhaps I will speak with Apple care and update if/when I do.

Cheers

Your wife, I presume must be a light user.
My friend's SE shows 83% after more than 2 years. The more one utilizes the battery cycle, obviously the more it depreciates.

Not really, She is a heavy user with what’s app, photos, emails, uTube etc. The phone is being charged every single day too.

Maybe overall quality is deteriorating or just plain luck with a particular piece.

Cheers

Hello.

Requesting suggestions - if budget is not a constraint, which is the best among the following -

1. IPhone XR 128 GB
2. One Plus 7 Pro series (256 GB)
3. Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite

I don't do gaming. I don't watch movies on a cell phone, but lot of You Tube.

Have never used an IPhone before.

1. Need dual sim

2. Three corporate email accounts with auto sync.

3. WhatsApp

4. Casual browsing

5. Need accurate GPS and Maps functionality.

Thanks

I asked my sister to get iphone XR for my wife, got it for around 920 S$ back in May 2019 for 128gb version. When bought it was brand new sealed in box.

Good morning.

Does IPhone XR support Dual VoLTE?

I have a corporate Vodafone sim that I can convert into an E-Sim and use Jio sim physically.

If it's not supported, how many seconds it takes to switch over data services from one operator to the other.

Thanks

Re: The iPhone Thread

Apple fined £21m for deliberately slowing down older iPhones.

Quote:
The penalty was imposed by France’s competition and fraud watchdog, which found customers were not warned about the measure.

iPhone users, the watchdog DGCCRF said, "were not informed that installing iOS updates (10.2.1 and 11.2) could slow down their devices".

Apple admitted to the practice, said it had resolved the issue with the regulator.

Get the Iphone 11 64 GB from US. You will get it for under 50k.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Has anyone updated their iPhone 7 to the latest iOS 13.3.1 update? Any feedback on the same please, especially in terms of battery health. Over the past, my experience has been that any major 13.X update has considerably affected the ‘battery health’ of my IP7. Anyway my IP7 has already reached its ‘service’ level of battery health; hence I don’t want it to further make it worse.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I updated. Battery health remains unaffected. It's the same as before, no issues

Re: The iPhone Thread

I'm getting this error in my ip6 frequently and it restarts automatically frequently. It's now operating in a sort of limp home mode. I use this phone for emails only and hence this is not a big issue. The battery health is 81% and it's running ios 12.4.5 (the latest for ip6). Any idea what might be the problem? How much would a battery replacement cost?
