Re: The iPhone Thread

Hello,

Seeking suggestions for MFi certified cable for iPhone 11 to charge and data transfer. Was recommended AmazonBasics and found this one --> https://www.amazon.in/AmazonBasics-N...dp/B082T6GXS5/ however the compatibility section mentions
Quote:
Experience effective performance when you need it most with the AmazonBasics USB-A to lightning cable. Designed for use with Apple products, the cable supports iPhone XS/XS, Max XR/X, 8 Plus/8, 7 Plus/7, 6s Plus/6s/6Plus/6, 5s/5c/5, iPad Pro, iPad Air/Air 2, iPad mini/mini 2/mini 4, iPad 4th gen, iPod Touch, and 5th gen iPod/iPad.
Would the above work with iPhone 11 and above models (including newly launched 14 Pro)? If not, any recommendations to be considered?

Cheers,
S

Re: The iPhone Thread

Bad news for people like me who suffer from Pulse Width Management (PWM) issues. There should be more feedback from Mac Forums in the next week too. I will be checking the 14 Pro Max for myself, but the outlook doesn’t look very promising to say the least.

Msdivy, I have not seen this one physically so no idea.

I would suggest visiting an Apple Store and taking a look at this case which should be available there as well. Speak to the staff and take a call on it.

Cheers

Ola app has this insurance tab where they offer you screen damage insurance for 49 Rs. It is limited upto 7,500 only and the app auto populates the phone you are using. This was for my iphone 13. I have taken it as a preventive measure simply because it is so cheap. Insurance is provided by a thid party called Zopper.

A week back, I ordered this one iPhone cable from Amazon

It's mentioned in Q&A that it's mfi certified. It's working well for me including fast charging. only 349 bucks.

One thing that is bothering is notifications coming at the bottom of screen. But don't think there is any option to go back to the earlier style. How about you guys?
You should be able to go back to the earlier style by going to settings-->notifications-->list. Let us know if this works!

Thanks but doesn’t help. It’s just how notifications will be delivered…i.e.. in stack or in separate list.

I have been using it with my 13ProMax for about 10months now, I would rate the silicon ones better than all others (including leather ones which I have owned in the past) owing to the better grip. Also, the silicon/leather ones have a felt kind of lining internally which I feel protects the phone better. You do get MagSafe option in the silicon ones as well.

The clear case can get scratched, dusty if not maintained well.

Only plus side of the clear case is that you can cherish the colour of iPhone you actually bought. My previous iPhone X was rarely taken out of silicon cover and there was a time when I nearly forgot how it looked like sans the cover.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Dear All,

Just wanted to know if anyone in the forum has tried the Apple Magsafe battery Bank. I have travel involved in my current profile and carry a 12 mini with me. I was looking for a nice portable battery bank and thought that apple one will be good (though expensive).

Any views regarding charging speed with battery bank, no of charge cycles and basic durability of product. Thanks,

Re: The iPhone Thread

Hi all,

I've been a long time Android user. Recently, saw the offers on the BBD sale on iphones and I've been thinking of a switch to iOS. iPhone 11 might be on sale under 35k 128 gb one. Just wanted to ask if it's worth to get 11 as of now? I'm not very keen on a 5g device and have a budget of 35k.

Well the phone will work perfectly fine. Apple SoC is leagues ahead of others and the only consideration is iOS support.
The current iOS16 ended support for iPhone 7, so iPhone 11 support will end in 2026 with iOS20. Till then you can use this phone without any glitches.

If Amazon festive sale price reveal to be believed, iPhone 12 64Gb to be available at 39xxx. With exchange and other card deals, it would be less than 35K for sure. And as Amazon already shown this, Flipkart would not be behind.

Sales starts on 23rd September (22nd for Prime members), so unless you want to order it today, wait for the sale to start and buy iPhone 12 for latest hardware than iPhone 11 and 4 more years of iOS update.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Hi All,
I'm a first time iPhone user. Made the jump from Galaxy S10+ to the 14 Pro recently.
One of the first things I did was to transfer all my Whatsapp data into the 14 Pro using the 'Move to IOS' app. However, I've noticed today that my Whastaspp media(photos, docs, videos) from before 2016 were not migrated into my new phone. The chat messages before 2016 have been transferred correctly, but the media is missing.
I need that media in my phone, so is there any way I can still get it? I haven't formatted my old phone and am open to the idea of using a paid app if it means I can get all my data. Please suggest some options.

P.S: The dynamic island thingy isn't that special. You'll stop noticing it after a few tries. I'll soon post my experience of moving from Android to IOS.

More than 5G, I will be worried more about the display. Its not A molded but LCD HD.
