They've done this 'adding a TV out' before with an HTC device. About 3 years back.

I'd like to see them 'add' 3G onto the iPhone, though

a lot of people complain about no mms no this no that
what you fail to realise that unlike other phones
the iphone is like a computer
updateable and not a brick for which if u need to update a feature you need to launch a new version of a phone
a computer? far from it.a device which requires a computer for every other task is not called a computer. It dosent even have the best hardware.

Quote:
just to add validity to my point
update 1.1.1 addresses these
iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store
• Louder speakerphone and receiver volume
• Home Button double-click shortcut to phone favorites of music controls
• Space bar double-tap shortcut to intelligently insert period and space
• Mail attachments are viewable in portrait and landscape
• Stocks and cities in Stocks and Waether can be re-ordered
• Apple Bluetooth Headset battery status in the Status Bar
• Support for TV Out
• Preference to turn off EDGE/GPRS when roaming internationally
• New Passcode lock time intervals
• Adjustable alert volume
Its just a firmware update with software tweaks, there is nothing to it.A firmware update will just update the software, apple can add anything they want, hell they can change the full OS,even Nokia,Motorola anyone can do it,but they dont.Apple has different strategies compared to others so its futile to compare.
Buy the way TV out,it dosent even have a good camera and cannot record video so whats the point, watching those compressed apple store videos and TV on a 32" LCD.

After 2 years when all updates have come and the iphone becomes a proper well rounded device,Apple will launch Iphone V2 and it will begin all over again.

I finally got my hands on a friends iPhone. As much as I didn't want to like it, I couldn't help it. It really is a very cool phone! I love the screen and the animations and menus and everything else. Darn it...I really didn't want to like it!

yet another apple vs all debate but look at it from this point .. 399 USD ~ 16000 RS give or take ... what other phone can do what this device can do ? as far as 3g we dont have that in india yet and more over most of the ppl who will buy it will buy it for the look and not what it can do ... why6 buy a benzo when you can get a bmw .. a better performing car in terms of sheer driving pleasure ... again brand image in india .. india is a very different market than every other market may it be cars, phones or even soft deinks look at it
Motorola V/s Nokia
C class vs 3 series
pepsi V/s coke

the results in india are opposite of what they are in the rest of the world

but this being said I am looking for a iPhone

there are many.A Moto Ming A1200 or the Rokr E6 (SUPERB value at 11K) can do most of what the iphone can. There is even a superb iphone skin and lock for the E6 if you like the iphone interface.

I'll buy the Benz if i could ever afford it.

Friends, the unlocking option lives only momentarily. The options what geeks have so far come up with is for a sepcific firmware version. Once you go in for a firmware upgrade on the phone, the babie is safely locked again. $500 is no great deal. Infact there are so called authorised dealers in US who would do it for you for less than $450. Imagine the time, when it gets locked post-upgrade???

Finally got a chance to have a look at the most talked phone in recent times, The iPhone.
It is a fantastic thing created by Apple. So much user friendly, inviting menus etc. It said only one thing, gently, "Try taking your eyes off me"
I admit, I wasnt able to. Phone/Pod/Internet/Gps what else one wants? And its FAST!
The niggles might be annoying but if you can live with it, its THE thing to have.

Im waiting for iiPhone

What do you mean by authorised dealers? I thought the only real authorised dealers of the Iphone are the Apple Stores and I really dont think they unlock phones.

I tihnk theres a custom firmware upgrade now where you get all the benefits of the upgrade without having to worry about the phone getting locked.

Do you mean the typing part of smsing? I tried it and while it was a little wierd at first I got used to it after 5 minutes and it became really easy.
