Opps, I forgot to mention that this is only available for the vendor's customers.

There are utilities available for breaking passwords of zip files. Google.

I should be getting my SatGuide SD card by tomorrow, so I am not going to break my head on this.

Last time I tried this (~2 yrs back) it took ~16 days to break a 7 letter alphanumeric password with a Dual Core machine via bruteforcing.

Is it any better these days with any improved utilities with faster algorithms?

Query to Garmin PND users

Is it possible to have both MMI and SatNav maps on the same Garmin unit? If yes, how easy/difficult is it to toggle between the two?

No issues whatsoever! I have used maps from 3 different providers simultaneously on the Garmin and it is a breeze to toggle between them. On the main screen, just go to Tools < Settings < Maps < Map Info and select the one you need.

In a garmin unit, you can have up to 6 maps, with the SD card in place. Doesn't matter which provider the maps come from.

+1 to nkapoor777.

Lucca. Finally Here.

So I got the Blau Travel Pilot. First time around they shipped me a broken piece, this time its a working one.

No signals inside buildings, under flyovers or in vicinity of many tall buildings. Infact all the way from Chrome to Alipore I got no GPS signal even though I was on the flyover.

Is it the Laila effect ? Cos supposedly even an overcast sky muddles with ze satelites.

Build quality is great and the mount is solid too.

Evidently, MMI thinks we live in Kolkatta, any other spelling and it will flatly refuse to direct.

It has a music player icon on the OS but can't play it. Maybe a firmware upgrade will do the trick though as per MMI it can't play that anyway.

Am looking forward to a long trip to see how it actually works.

Only gripe as yet is the insanely short car charging cable. It is especially bad in the RS where the charger socket is on the console near the gear lever and is oriented laterally as opposed to perpendicular to the floor as in most cars.

My Blaupunkt Lucca car charger blew six fuses in a week. I got a free replacement, but had to send someone across to the MMI office (5 km from my place) to get a quick replacement.

When you say SD card in place, what exactly do you mean? As I understand it, all maps (say MMI, SatNav, etc) come as SD cards and once you plug in the same to your PND, you should be able to download/dump the maps on to your device and start using without having to have the SD card in the slot! Is my understading not correct?

Sure. In fact, I was a bit sceptical till Samurai ordered his Garmin unit from them and got it safe and sound

I got my Satguide microSD card with SD adopter yesterday. I used it to find my way from home to office. Ok, ok, this Sunday I will use it while driving to Bangalore.

how are the oneway data inside cities? i was trying out the MMI navigator at the bangalore auto show and it was pretty unimpressive. I doubt if anyone could actually follow the directions it gave? highway directions looked ok.
