Garmin is a good unit and AFAIK its the only GPS for which you have maps in India. I use a 200$ Lowrance, but no India maps, but its a GPS/barometer/weather forecaster all rolled into one.
Also has an electronic compass.

if anybody is looking for GPS, garmin's 2X5 (255, 265, 275 etc) around $200 range, and 7X5 (755, 765, 775, 785) around 500$ range are the kller products released this fall. the features are awesome, especially lane assist, where's my car, very fast acquisition and refresh rates etc. I am waiting for these to get a little cheaper on amazon, i don't think they will be cheap anytime soon though.

this makes the existing lineup dirt cheap now, Garmin 350 which was the best VFM is now available under 180. I almost bought it last month before i saw the 2X5 and 7X5.
