Team-BHP - Designing a new website

Hello mates
I have my Architectural and Project Management consultancy based in New Delhi. Now I am looking to get the domain registered and email service for the same. I don't know which one to go for as market is flooded with the domain providers. I want good size of storage and speed is my primary concern.
So people in IT and having experience of such services can suggest.

godaddy is an internationally reputed domain and hosting service provider, who also provides services in India(including .in domains). I have used their domain services - but not hosting - and I did not find anything to complain about. Their control panel is pretty good, so you (or your staff) can easily buy and manage domains without contacting the providers for any changes. Since I work on this field, I have used other providers including net4. I would recommend godaddy compared to the others.

Like mxx suggested, GoDaddy is pretty good for domain purchases and they always run discounts (search for coupons online). However, their control panel isn't up to the mark for hosting. I'd suggest going with HostGator for hosting. They run cPanel for managing your hosting and cPanel is more or less the standard everywhere now.

India : Domain registration & basic hosting from Net4.

Int'l : PairNIC for domains and pair.com for basic hosting.

Recommended : You could just register the domain from pairnic and let Google take care of your business email accounts.

Godaddy hosting is fine, never faced problems in 5 years. But email service is very poor. Its cheaper as compared to other providers. I provided it for a client due to their budget limitations but 7 out of 10 times they get a delay of 2-3 hrs in receiving mails.

Gmail for business is the way to go.

Yes. Gmail for business for upto 10 users (10 logins/emailids) is free. They also allow you to register a domain name through them (more or less same prices as godaddy or other domain name providers) which will be integrated to the email service i.e., you get ids with @yourcompany.com domain which looks professional :)

Domain Service / Registrars:
- This is where you purchase you URL/domain, as well as renew it yearly (usually ~$10/yr).

Hosting

Thanks Rehaan sir for making me understand the webtech.
I too believe that gmail business solution will be better than all but it gives only one email id whereas godaddy and net4. gives more (I think 2).
Anybody could give comprison between net4. and gmail services.
It would be really great. I have to make the deal tomorrow.

I know prateek but for this you have to have your domain already registered.
AND if you don't have a domain registered you can register it with Google BUT in Google there is no option for ".in" (as .com is already taken)

SO how about getting domain registered at net4. and using email service by Google!?! I think that sounds good.

I'd initially consulted a professional to make my website, but long story short, after a few false promises, we left them and I decided to do it myself.

I used squarespace.com for our website. They have excellent templates to work with, 24/7 customer support and even integrate social networks. They also take care of hosting and email accounts. Granted it might be a bit expensive but I really like the website i made with their tools especially considering i have very limited knowledge of website design :P

The way I see it, if i had it professionally made, it would have costed about the same for a three year period. The biggest advantage however is that i can edit everything anytime i want, thats something no professional offered.

That is what i have done for all my friends and designed their websites too , It works flawlessly and hope google does not remove this free email option for businesses. Coming from a fellow architect , do let me know if you need any further help in this matter
