I'm not into drags, so this is good enough for me - the car is my daily drive. I think we all agree that the readings from the software seem 'iffy' - so I'm not sure what we're trying to prove here. The best we can do is to get that Gtech thingy on it - nothing more.

I was never targetting you, it was all about the product.

Since the results have been posted in an open forum, we can't ignore the fact that the acc figs seem a bit too off track (especially after 100kmph).

People reading this thread will atleast know that the dynolicious is not really as good as the company claims it to be.

So, if someone is planning on buying an iphone for this feature alone, it's just not worth the money spent.

Dont you think thats a bit far out? Taking into account iPhone pricing right now, it really isnt logical to buy a $800 piece of hardware so that you can use a $13 program on it, EVEN IF THAT PROGRAM IS ACCURATE - if you were looking at this specific purpose, it makes more sense to buy this Gtech thing (never used it before myself).

Yeah - funnily the figures upto 100 seem to be okay.

Thats not true, infact i found the dynolicious software to be pretty accurate. As i stated in earlier post, the placement has to be right, ie flat on a even surface facing forward.
I dont why steriod is getting wrong results ,maybe his accelerometer is gone kaput.
Infact it is diificult to match the times set by the magazines, case being my mondeo and magnum tested by be.
The best 1/4 mile i ever got on my mondeo to date is 16.8 secs at 130 kmph while Overdrive did it in 16.4s at 132 kmph, and the same with the magnum too.
Will be testing the new honda accord 2.4 manual, and hopefully the E 280 cdi ,will post pics and results soon

16.8@130kmph is a very realistic fig.

Possible, coz his figs are pretty close upto 100kmph and then they go crazy.

That should be interesting. Dont forget to post 0-160 and 1/4 mile. Lets hope atleast your trap speeds are consistant.

Ok guys, i did a lot of searching regarding this and finally got my answer on youtube.

@Steroid - i think you're having some issues with either the accelerometer or the way you install your phone in the car.

Coz according to this test, the dynolycious is pretty accurate wrt to 1/4 mile time and trap speed.

You can use this online calculator to double check your trap speed results. They claim the calculated results to be within 5 MPH of the actual speed.

1/4 Mile Speed Calculator

I did some comparison tests.

ab1xlr8's mondeo 16.8 secs
iphone - 81.25mph
Online Cal - 81.57mph

You Tube Run - 15.6
drag timer - 91.29mph
iphone - 90.6mph
Online Cal - 87.62mph

Your 1st run 14.36
iphone - 110.43mph
Online Cal - 94.92mph

2nd run 12.8
iphone - 124.3mph
online cal - 106.13mph

There seems to be a huge trap speed diff only in your test results.

So, you're trying to say Steeroids Jag is actually capable of 12.8@124mph?

Do a search and see how many cars doing 12.8 secs are hitting 124mph at the drag strip.

Lemme know when you find one.

This is good stuff. How difficult or easy would it be for competitors to have something like in their phones?

Steer, when you are doing this again, you know whom to call. I promise not to be late! Also, can WE try this on the MT01?

The updated version of the software seems to be more accurate and also has the speed in kmph.
Caution to new users is to Calibrate the software before testing, its a must to get accurate results, also place the phone on a flat surface with some type of rubber matting below so that it does not slip.
