Even though the palio is a quick car , i think the results above are inaccurate, either because the iphone was not placed properly or because Dynolicious software was not calibratred , cause for one thing to get a max acceleration of 1.33 g is possible only in
F1 cars

True.

Here are the acc figures for the Palio 1.6 according to laser test equipment (courtesy Overdrive).

Palio 1.2 ELX v/s Palio 1.6 GTX

0-60 in 8.83 is believable. OD got 8.97 on the Vbox (0-62mph). However, nobody has been able to come anywhere close to the 8.4 claimed by Skoda (wonder what they used to test it).

The 180 bhp RS?

I'm still wondering how the Vbox with the GPS fudge factor can be so accurate.

Abhinav, he is talking about the European spec Skoda Octavia RS. The Indian RS uses a slightly detuned version of the same engine with only 150 BHP.

However the first gen AUDI TT that came to India did have this same engine with all of it's 180 horses. Try to sneak an ECU from one of these or even better get a proper remap like Shuvd and unleash all it's 220 BHP.

P.S- Abhinav, I think a ride in your car is pending : ) .

I was under the impression that a RS remap would give around 180 bhp and not 220 bhp.
Anyways happy to see abhinav getting pretty accurate results, cause the test by others was giving Dynolicious a bad name.
Hey abhinav did your dynolicious software complete the full calibration, cause its important to get accurate results.

top on top, right on top, bottom on top, left on top,
flat on the ground ( once with sceen facing down and once facing up)

It is quite accurate, as i suppose

8.97 was for the 150bhp RS.

Not sure about the fudge factor, but i found this vid of a guy writing his name using a Vbox reciever. Seems to be pretty accurate.

yes the VBOX is currently the most accurate speed measuring device out there, supposed to measure speeds upto 0.1 kms, all the top magazines measure tiimings with it,the most expensive Vbox cost 10,000$

I'd Rather prefer a bit inaccurate results by not paying a single penny ( or in some case paying 13$) than buy a software costing the price of an automaric santro!

Why even pay 13$ when your car comes with a speedo. Just use a stop watch and cal the acc. In any case, you're gonna be inaccurate. Who knows, you might even end up cranking the 8.4 sec time claimed by Skoda.

And if you want to check the 1/4 mile time, use the tripmeter and stop the clock when you cover 400meters.
