anku,

In case you can recall from your usage during last summer, how is the noise level compared to any other single motor window a/c.?

I don't know noise levels of any other as the relatives I visit frequently have the same model. If we use it on the 'Super Cool' mode, it's noisy. But on the 'Silent' mode it's super-silent and doesn't make much noise on the normal mode.

But again, I don't have anything to compare it to.

I am in the market for a 1.5 Ton Split AC for home usage. I am using a LG window AC from last 5 years with absolutely no problems so LG is one brand that is there on top of my list.

Requirement is to have good features, save energy and trouble free for atleast 5 years.

So apart from LG which other brands i can include in my shortlist. And, are there any offers going on for AC's ( Just before summers they usually have)

^^ I got 2 Samsung Splits last year, a 1T and a 1.5T. Good value for money AC's I would say. Cant really comment on long term performance as I have only used them for a year.

Panasonic has a nationwide scheme on their splits at the moment. It is some series called silver offering a 1.5 ton split for 23K.

I am looking for an ogeneral dealer in faridabad..need 11 units of splits, 7 1.5 tonnes and 4 2 tonnes....wondering gray is a good option ? the price difference between a 2ton with bill and gray is approx 12k.but havent heard great things abt after sales...though every one swears by the performance...even those who sell rival brands...
Hitachi has had mixed reviews and personal experience has been bad with the window option...Not too sure about Panasonic or Mitsubishi . Plz advice .thanks

@Kapilkantkaul

I am applying for an OG dealership as I type. He He..

On a more serious note if you are running that many in a single location have you considered a packaged unit. Will save you tons in running costs. Try OG, Daikin and Trane

I use both Ogeneral and Mitsu splits. OG does duty in more stringent locations and the Mitsu in slightly less demanding ones but cannot find fault with it. I also use Daikin and would recommend that too in lieu of OG. While Daikin has a proper web site with all sort of contact details Welcome to Daikin India for some reason OG has only this with the corporate office details Contact(India) - FUJITSU GENERAL GLOBAL

I would stay away from Electrolux. They are cheap to buy and some dealers promote the brand, but lot of maintenace and expensive to run.

I am searching for a 1.5 ton split ac. After looking at several models I found Voltas Vertis Gold to be a real VFM as it has BEEE 5 star rating and EER as 11.02 , which is quite good in 27000 , hitachi has 11.3 but at 35K .

Can anyone suggest me if I am making a mistake here or any particular problem with the voltas unit ?

Also checked Carrier Extrella ( EER 12+, BEEE 5 star , 1.5 Ton ) but priced at 37K after discount .

Thanks in advance.

@worldcrawler
Look at Panasonic, selected models are available in the same price band as the Voltas. Nothing wrong with Voltas per se but Carrier is avoidable.

Have both Hitachi window (with warranty) and General Split (Grey) in my bedroom. Had Hitachi earlier and later moved to General and Hitachi is there as extra to be used in peak summers (big room). General is the way to go man!

@WanderNomad
If you do not mind sharing some info, how big is your room. Are the walls and roof exposed to direct sunlight. What tonnage are you running on the two a/cs.
