For those in bangalore, Adishwars has a deal on the godrej 1.1 ton AC. 17990/-, including stabilizer and installation. the AC is very good - 3 star energy compliance. EER of about 10.6 or so.
I bought one a couple of weeks back and its great. very low noise and cools real quick.

Thats exactly how it is.Rotary is the new technology consumes less power and , much more silent too.

Having used a Mitsubishi 2 ton and Daikin 2 ton for the past few weeks I confidently say the Mitsu has far better cooling capablities.

The daikin has a silent blower but does not cool as quickly or efficently as the mitsubishi.

For instance, the mitsu stays on 25 degree with economy mode switched on. Where as the Daikin is at 20 degrees in normal mode but still doesnt match up quite as well. Hence I guess the mitsu would be more energy efficent too.

Yesterday, I checked out Hitachi and Samsung.

Hitachi is for 36,800 (5 star) and Samsung biosleep or something for 26,500 (3 star)

Hitachi, in exchange with my current wall dabba, will cost me 31,500 and without 34,000.

Whereas no discounts on Samsung and 2500 less for dabba.
So either going for all out Hitachi or Hitachi+Samsung.

I also asked him how much approx will be the difference in bill between 3 star and 5 star. He said it will be around Rs 250 pm.

Around 1500 as fitting charges plus brackets. And 3 days to install!! Wow 3 days?

Daikin and Blue Star doesnt have offices in Bombay so service might be an issue. Is it true?

brackets for outside unit?

One day to fix brackets, one day for cement to set and harden, then install AC on third day.

...is my guess.

Brackets are screwed onto the wall. No need for cement. That is what they did when my AC was installed.

Ahhh... Our outside-wall-mounteds are on heavy ironwork which is cemented into the wall. I think they left it more than one day, though; probably two or three

Brackets are given along with the compressor. Not required to pay separately. I got them for a Onida and a LG AC.

Ahh... we didn't take brackets with ours as they were originally installed on a roof, then for various reasons that I mostly forget, two were moved to the walls, and brackets were made up for them.

I just bought a Samsung 2 Tonne AS24ETA split AC.

Its a 3 star and way cheaper than a Hitachi(I hope I was richer )

Paid 30000 for AC.Price also includes free delivery and installation.

I dont think you have 5 star rated 2 ton split AC.Can anyone throw some light on this?
