Since the recent past i have been renting out DVD's from BigFlix and i am facing a problem when i want to play the DVD through my PS3.

I get an error message saying " Pal video cannot be broadcasted OR the region code is not correct"

Can someone suggest if i can mod the PS3 to ensure that it plays "ALL" types of DVD's?

If yes, how and where to get it done info would be highly appreciated.

Where did u get your Ps3 from if not from India it will not work as it is region locked,and i think there are no mods to make it work.

One of my collegues got his PS2 bought from US modded at
some shop in Prasads Imax complex. May be you can try
there.

Currently there is no way to mod the PS3.
You apparently have a PS3 brought down from the US and PAL/ non region 1 dvds will not work

Yes guys, i got it from the States. So there is no way we can play DVD's which are PAL or regions apart from Region 1 on the PS3?:Frustrati

I had this issue with my sony dvd player that i bought from US... there is only one solution..to make a DVD backup using CloneDVD or other software which removes the region code makes the backed up DVD Region free. You can then play it on your player.

Man, its too much of a trouble. Plus, that wont work for rental DVD's, i will be spending more time cloning a DVD than watching it:uncontrol

I will just buy a new DVD player.:)

Even reegular DVD players are region locked from the factory.But, you can ask the showroom guys to unlock it for you. :)
