External Volume Control via USB!

Hey,

So i am looking for a external volume control knob for my laptop, the inbuilt volume buttons on the laptop are tooo slow (have to press them roughly 25 times to go from 0 to 100 volume).

I have seen devices like this on the net (the Griffin Powermate) :
External Volume Control via USB!-powermate.jpg

Heres another (more cheapo looking) one :
USB Volume Slide Controller: Control at your fingertips Coolest Gadgets

1. Does anyone have any experience using these?
2. Has anyone seen anything like this for sale in bombay?
3. Are there any alternatives? (products or solutions)

(I do not want to use the volume control on my amp/speaker system, i need the volume to change on my computer)

Thanks,
R

Amazon.com: Creative Labs Xmod USB Sound Card for PC & Mac: Electronics

why buy a volume control when you can get an entire USB soundcard for about the same price ( and added SQ) !

Being a creative product, it should be available locally

Thanks greenhorn,

However, i need a solution that can also control the volume of the wireless bridge (shows up as another output device in the windows volume controller) -- so i don't think the external soundcard would help in this case!

if the volume controls are annoying , how about a freeware solution

Sound Control | Really Effective

Quote:
Mixers and Hot Keys
  • Independant hot keys for each mixer, volume increase, volume decrease and mute
  • Multiple Sound Card/Device support (limited)
  • Synchronisation with external sound mixers (e.g. Sound Control will reflect any changes made using other sound mixer applications)
  • Set and remove default sound levels for each mixer
Used it myself before i got a remote. works great
