Is that particular sim card manually cut ? I have read Lumia's are sensitive to manually cut sim card.
Sim A- Slot 1 : All ok
Sim B- Slot 2 : Incoming ok, outgoing not ok.

Sim A- Slot 2 : All ok

However, when I put Sim B in another phone : All ok.

Sim B is not cut manually.

Try another Sim say 'C'

Now try Sim A with slot 1 & Sim C with slot 2, also try interchanging them.

If this combination works, time to replace Sim B with new Sim card.

How old is Sim B? I faced a similar issue with one of my calling sims in the phone. It kept coming and going and finally one day it died. As my luck would have it, I had travelled on the very day. It worked at the source airport but when I switched on the phone after landing, there was no network signal. I could replace the sim only after returning.

I would suggest take the sim to the closest Network Provider's office and have them check it.

Sim is 6 months old.

The problem seems to have disappeared on its own after a day.

I will however get the sim replaced to ensure there is no repeat problem.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Isn't it surprising that Microsoft (after nudging out Nokia) has only released low and mid end phones. There has been no high-end phones introduced to the market in the recent past (say 6 months), or am I wrong?

The new flagships are coming on October 6th. The Lumia 950 and the 950XL.

As for the new TP build, installed it yesterday. A hard reset later, the messaging app was missing!

I then had to install the Messaging app or the Skype Messaging App separately from the store to get my SMS functionality back. Huge oversight from MS!

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Any one on the Insider Preview program checking out Windows 10? I believe the latest build is quite good and very close to a Final build. Any reviews?

I don't know how close it is to a final build, but yeah it is pretty stable and I am using it on my primary phone with no issues.

What about battery? It is draining very fast when compared to 8.1.

On my L1520 the battery life seems to be comparable to Win 8.1. I have no idea about other devices.

Mine is also 1520. Ok now the concern is will we ever get the final build of Windows 10 for our device when it gets officially launched next month?

There is a rumour that only Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930 will get the final build. Even current flagship L1520 is no listed.

Cheers!

You are right. Worse, there is no "good" 4g phone in the lineup. I wanted to replace my 2 year old lumia. I was looking for a 4g phone since I have been using internet hotspot a lot.
Finally I had to switch to android.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Can someone please recommend a microSD card for Lumia 730?

I tried using an older Class 4 8GB one I had lying around, and it seemed to work for a day before throwing a 'can't access SD card' error and now refuses to format it too. I tried formatting it on another phone and it's asking for a password (I never set one)

Try formatting the card on a PC. Windows phone 7 used to encrypt cards. But not WP8/10.
