SatGuide with Mio C230 Device. Intial Review.

I was looking for a navigator kind of device to assist me in driving for my Pune trip. I was at ezone in city center and saw this product for 12500/-. I called up SatNav and they said that this is the best price they can offer. Somehow managed to crib my natural insticts to buy and went ahed with my trip without the device. The day I returned, after 4 days of Pune trip, SatNav emailed me stating an offer price of 7500/-. I purchased a SatGuide with all India Map (200+ cities) 2 days back.

The package came with a Mio C230 device 3.5" Touch screen, One Car Charger, One home charger, One attachment to fix the device to the windscree, user manual DVD and one DVD with the software (map) in case I need to install it again on the device.

Initially the device took 5-10 minutes to find locate the GPS signals. The maps are quite decent and I was able to find most of the important places. By default it suggests the shortest route but you can avoid the routes which you dont want. The directions are quite decent and the pointers are quite decent. There are still lots of Points Of Interests missing in the map.

Overall, its a decent buy if you are new to the town or are looking for a device like this.

No there is no monthly rental on this. The map upgrade is the only thing which will cst me in the future. This will be my choice.

There is a 1 Year warranty on the device and Life time warranty on the Software.

Since this is a WinCE Device most packages like Garmin, MMI would work fine. Review of MMI on this device is here:
