Under sea cable Break ?

Any one else facing this ?

Our Internet service provider Global Crossing (GC) is currently observing failure in the subsea cable system on Atlantic path, which is causing congestion across London - East Coast USA traffic. We are not facing any outage as the entire traffic is rerouted through backup path. However we are observing high latency on the backup path to US/UK locations, which could result in performance issues for a few applications.

Nope, I use both Reliance and Airtel. Haven't noticed any delay.

Something seems to be wrong somewhere! Ping times are okay but there are packet drops. Tracert shows that there are huge lags once the hops reach some international gateway. Downloads from rapidshare is irritatingly slow and stops all of a sudden. :(

Correct, I am also facing problems with my reliance connection. Its OK for this site or most Indian sites, but downloads from rapidshare are quite slow and then come to an end.

This true with any ISP I checked today, I had checked with Airtel, Relianace, BSNL and Tata.

Even my airtel is acting up but its not too. My torrents speed drops to 10kbps once in a while for a couple of minutes but goes back to normal after that. Loading webpages is completely normal though.

My office connection is BSNL, home connection AirTel and have a Reliance data card.

No issues till now. I haven't even heard about the undersea cable snap, though the listening post is up and on..

MTNL is terrible these last couple of weeks, pages refuse to load or load partially, there are several breaks......in general, internet connectivity is hell.
